that mails out greeting cards on your behalf to your friends, family, and clients? In addition, flowers, chocolates, and gift certificates could also be sent out with the greeting cards.
Would you be willing to avail such service? Why or why not?
If you would be, how much would you be willing to spend on each card and if you would like flowers/chocolates/gift certificates to be sent out as well, how much would you then be willing to pay?
In order for it to work, the customers would have to fill out forms online indicating birthdays, anniversaries, religious holidays, and other ocsasions for which they want the cards to be sent out to specific individuals. They could either write the personal message for the specific individuals themselves or could indicate their relationship, so that an appropriate greeting could be written.
In addition, the customer could also sign/initial (upload) online that could then be used for the cards.
The purpose of the survey is to figure out the viability of such a business. If there’s a positive response (by the majority), then the idea could be used to write a business plan for a project.
Nope. I do not like receiving ecards therefore i do not like sending them out either. Besides if I am going to send out an ecard the least i can do is do it myself and make it somewhat personal. Besides it would be awful to get a call from, lets say my sister thanking me for the birthday card and chocolates I sent her for her birthday and there I am, oh it was ur birthday?
I like the idea. I have so many relatives that it is so hard to keep up with their b'days, anniversaries. Plus friends who are not in the same city as you, it becomes hard to keep up w/ their b'days/anniversaries too. Some year I remember and the next I forget. It would definitely benefit me just because I try to remember people on their special occasions (sometimes unsuccessfully).
The amount should be based on the number of entries by that person. It would not be fair to charge someone the same price who is using it for 5 people vs. for 20 people. You can set up pricing brackets according to the number of data entries (relatives/friends) plus the number of occasions per data entry.
well sadiyah, there are many gift sites like pakgifts and all who are into such things and i think are prett successful. it depends on what the rates are and how well you are going to market your website. I think you should definitely give it a try.
oops, ok. If it was something I was generating right then it would be okay, but I wouldn;t like to give the svc ppl a list and have them automatically send out stuff.
I wouldn't be interested. E-cards have already made people lazy enough, it seems like such a big deal now when I actually get a real, physical card. It's like someone has taken the extra effort to go out and choose something and write something specifically for me when they could have sent an e-card like the vast majority of others. I wouldn't want that taken away. I love giving out real cards and writing silly stuff in them. It's not the same coming from a stranger.
Thanks for the input. Seeing all the negativity, I think the group would be better off with some other business idea. :p
Please feel free to share any other viable and innovative business ideas.
5abi, survey is not part of the assignment. Just that I thought I'd ask around to see how viable it actually is. I see myself using such a service for distant friends and family. I usually don't have the time to be sending out cards, but would love to use a service that could sort of assist me.
