Two of my mom's cousins are married to each other.Their nani declared this when the girl was born,from what I have heard.The couple got married about 12 or 13 years ago.They seem to be happily married now.
An interesting twist was when the boy's elder brother said that he wanted to get married to the girl's elder sister (his cousin)/The elders in the family then flipped that how can 2 sisters be married to 2 brothers in the same house.Apparently the nani who used to decide all these things had this rule in place.Long story short,both marriages happened and are going fine..and we had a blast at both the weddings and got pretty awesome clothes...:D

NO NEVER.
And even when they reach the age of marraige i wouldnot like them to get married in family...i would prefer outsiders...rest will be their choice.

No never!!! This never happened in my family and i certainly would never do that to my kids. I will support them in choosing their life partners themselves inshallah

^ for "ghar ka rishta ghar main rahay ga" kinda mentality!
No one arraged the children rishta in my family but they tried hooking up adult cousins calling it "ghar ki beti" "ghar ka beta" and that you dont know much about outsiders.. these kids grew up infront of you etc etc.. some were successful, some didnt work out for better! Older generation stayed mad at eachother but younger generation was just cool about it so no issues there!

Everyone has a right to choose their own partner.
I feel such things often hurts the girls ego if the guy doesnt wanna marry her later on and she has been told ever since she can remember that he is the "special one" ..

ive seen it alot in families even now, where the parents themselves dont say anything, its the kids grandparents who make decisions......pathetic.
and No never, its a disgusting practise to be fair. nothing islamic about it. its our ridiculous culture.
