Its ridiculous to ban religion. Instead, we should work on ourselves to be a better human being - accepting and tolerating of all other people rather than killing others who is not like ‘us’.
Banning religion would still not get rid of the evil within people and it will come out in one way or the other.
Religion just provides language to express what is inexpressible like faith. Scripture like Quran, Bible etc. has everything you need, if you are a minsogynst, you can look at the scripture and find plenty of things to support your views, if you are a feminist, you would see plenty of things too. Being evil has everything to do with individual and nothing to do with the text. People do not derive their values from scripture, they insert their values into them …if they are evil inherently, they will use religion to justify it, if they are peaceful, they will use scripture to justify it.
Agreed.
But this is not the way scripture is meant to be used. It’s a twisting of purpose and an intentional biased interpretation. It doesn’t mean that scripture should be banned.
