Look at China. They banned religion years ago. Apart from the minor skirmishes that we hear, I think China is a wonderful place. I have been here for quite sometime and love the people.

If you look at any country wherein religion controls a major part of the lives, it is just sickening to see. In Pakistan - people accused of blasphemy are lynched without even a trial. In India, a person got killed because he ate beef. In Saudi,Syria I dont even want to start.

In short if you look at all the problems facing mankind, I honestly think that the world would be a better place if people gave up religion and agreed that all men are equal

Even if you were able to ban religion, it’s highly unlikely that you would EVER get everyone to agree that all men are equal.

Another thing…
Religion serves many purposes aside from providing law and order to society.
There are many of us that have an inherent need to believe that an earthly existence is not all there is; that they are working towards a greater goal and a better “after-life”. Taking away this hope may lead to its own chaos.
