Would like to teach in Pakistan for a few weeks

Is there anyone that knows how the voluntary service in education works. I am a Head of Department here in London and I would like to share my teaching experiences and expertise with teachers in pakistan, especially in schools which are perhaps in poor rural villages. I would like to do this free as part of a 2 weeks practice in April 2010.Any suggesstions or any teachers in Pakistan that would like to fulfil this aspiration with me would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Hi Ashi,

I taught at a university for a year before coming to Sheffield for postgrad studies. I am going back in september to start teaching again. I don't really know much about any voluntary service in education in Pakistan, but what you can do is that you can hold SEMINARS and TALKS in different universities or even in schools and colleges. That is very much possible. Its very kind of you to think about such a venture. I am sure it will benefit alot of people in Pakistan.

Re: Would like to teach in Pakistan for a few weeks

where will you be teaching? is it possible at your instutution to even share my teaching experience. I would ike to work with young students who are aspiring to go to perhaps univeristy or even carry out teaching programmes.

Re: Would like to teach in Pakistan for a few weeks

Re: Would like to teach in Pakistan for a few weeks

You can contact the uni's/ schools in Pakistan directly and they would love your help!

ive triedto contact some schools, but they are so unreliable. They pass the phone fro one person to anoter eventhough I speak to them in Urdu. Does anybody know of any teachers or lecturers who are currently working at established institutions that may be able to help me do what I am looking to do? I am looking to provide my epertise to established and less established schools. I would also like to bring on some teachers that work with me here in London. It would be a learning experience for me also. I don't mind teaching English or even my specialist subject of Religious Studies (world religions). I would like to create an international link with the school also.So that it can be a regular experience for students here in London and in Pakistan. I am very ken to get this going.I am confident that there will be local schools that will be of some benefit. My pupo and her family live in Rawalpindi. So that might be a start. Islamabad would also be an ideal oppertunity.

Thank you to those people who have kindly taken time out to reply to me.
