would crown look weird by any means?

so yeah one more question which i am sure no one will answer :frowning:

i am gonna wear a tail gown with farshi lengha on the walima. the dress is totally non traditional and we’d have a wedding cake too and the whole theme would be western. i didn’t plan this, its all my hubby’s planning. on the contrary my baraat is extremely traditional. so my question is that would i look OTT if i wear the crown as well with my jewelry?

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

don't wear a crown.. wear a tiara if you must

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

IMO, a crown would look a little over the top! You could wear a tiara, or even better, a circlet! They look so regal!

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

Unless you're a real princess don't wear a crown or tiara.

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

Wear a tiara.

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

tiara will look fine, but crown is a no-no

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

yup if you must, wear a delicate looking tiara.

btw what is a tail gown with farshi lehnga? I thought it's either a gown or a lehnga?

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

i personally think that even a tiara is a little OTT, however if you really want to wear something on ur head definitely a tiara or circlet is the way to go...but not a crown

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

i meant tiara i accidentally wrote crown but i know what you guys are talking about

what do you guys think about this one or even lighter than the one in the set would go?
btw my walima is in karachi and not anywhere outside pakistan  i guess i should just drop the idea, it only occured to me just now i think it would really nice with everything but then again we do make stupid choices :stuck_out_tongue:

my tail gown is such that its front open with inner shirt and from the front its uptil just above the ankle and it has tail at the back so the farshi lengha would appear in the front only after the gown ends. kinda like the gown sana safinaz have only with the extension of farshi lehnga.

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

ahan. I think I know what you mean.. sounds pretty :@:

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

i think it will look ver nice as long as the rest of your jewellery is not too bold, otherwise it will be too much

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

Less is more! Go with something tiny, delicate and discreet so it doesn't veer into paindu territory, IMHO. Think Kate Middleton, not Princess Di.
Also like the above poster said, if you're doing things the western way, then go all the way, I.e. Just earrings, tiara and maybe a cuff or a couple of delicate bangles, and maybe a smallish necklace. You can't have the rest of your jewelry fighting with your tiara and your dupatta. Of course a big part of it depends on how heavy your dupatta is in terms of kaam. It might just not work with the tiara at all.

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

I recommend a circlet over a tiara.

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

would this little do?

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

^ That's pretty! Try it out with your hair and dupatta and see how it looks :)

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

thanks for the advice :)

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

i think it will look perfect with your gown, especially if you do a half-do with quite some volume on the top of your head, but avoid bold jewelery for the rest

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

This might look pretty too, but I believe this is a necklace..

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

yeah i think this is a necklace but she did a very nice job with it. if only it had no drops it would have looked flawless!

Re: would crown look weird by any means?

i still haven't got any jewelry so that can be bought according to the requirements but i think my doppatta is quite heavy. i'd try it out lets see how it turns out. in my head it looks amazing even with the heavy dopatta (but very light set)
