would capris suit me?

or do they just look good on girls who are tall and/or slim?

the kurta is v-neck with full sleeves and it hits the mid-thigh…so what kind of bottoms would go with it? I really want something interesting…

i’m leaning towards a capri but i really don’t know if it’ll suit my body type or not (some of yall have already seen me so… :halo: ), a calf-length trouser.

after hte capris my second choice is just getting straight/tapered trousers, not a shalwar though, but with a belted waist and flat front…just like real slacks. Will that be possible? will it look nice?

yay ke nay?

Re: would capris suit me?

I think capris will look good on you, you should go with it. And if you are hesitent about it, go with straight trouser.

Re: would capris suit me?

i havent seen you so cant say if they wl luk good on u r or not but i think capries luk fine on chubby girls too just depends on how u carry it and where you have the fat on?!? lol....so its abt the body structure more than being slim or not.

but a safe alternative wl be a trouser.

Re: would capris suit me?

I personally think look capris good on tall /slim girls Sigh !
I was wondering if Anarkali's look good on short/chubby ladies :( No?

Re: would capris suit me?

^i think now anarkali suits definately luk better on taller girls and ofcourse on someone who is in normal weight range not fat or even chubby.

Re: would capris suit me?

capris should not be worn if u are not slender..u can pull it off if ure not so tall.. but being slender is a must.. imho ..

Re: would capris suit me?

^ i dont agree with that personally...sara iv seen your pics on gs before and mashallah your lovely. My freind has exactly the same body type as you and she wears capri's with the same kind of top your describing , and she looks great in it. Im not exactly a waif myself, slender upper bod but heavier bottom half and i wear capri's with tops that cover my butt and it looks great! (dont mean to sound like i love myself!)Its all about how you carry it off. I think you would look great in it...but if you dont feel comfortable with it then thats a diff story.

Re: would capris suit me?

your second choice is better. Meaning, short kurta with straight/tapered trousers/slacks would look very nice on you.

Re: would capris suit me?

capris will suit u for sure. they look cute on short girls. a thumb of rule is to wear short bottoms if u r short. we can't wear short short skirts now, so the alternative for us are capris, or skirts that fall just below the knee.
anarkali dresses will simply eat you up if you are too short and wear them. you can, however, wear something with vertical design with heels. that would give an illusion of you being a little taller than u actually r.
as for being chubby and wearing anarkali, u will simply look pregnant!

Re: would capris suit me?

body structure? i dont have much of a waist or hips and on a good moment i only look 4 months (instead of 10 :@: )

:bummer:

hm, well my upper body is kinda big compared to the lower body. I hate that :disgust:

that wud be such an awesome outfit to wear if i was

Re: would capris suit me?

:omg: :omg:

Sorry but that was just hilarious! And Sara stop being an idiot mann you are not that bad! :smack: I think capris would look really good on you so long as you dont wear them with flats. Wear a little bit of a stacked wedge heel and it’ll elongate your body and itll look really nice! Maybe go try on some capris at a dept. store just to see how it looks before getting the capris made.

Re: would capris suit me?

If you are tall, then even if you are not slim the anarkali can look good on you, even make you look slim. People think I have lost weight when I wear mine. A line can slim you down. No pleats though!!

You acn wear capris Sara, I have seen your pics, you look fine. Though, if you are not very tall, then maybe a shorter top may look better.

Re: would capris suit me?

Sara why don't u try and get a not-so-expensive capri made...perhaps chicken or cotton..and if you blv it suits you make s'more of them. Capri's usually look nice if u're tall..and have lean legs..but do give it a try!

Re: would capris suit me?

umm.............ok so ur not heavy i guess

capris suit all the body types yes all body types if worn properly!!

so ladies i will say go for it

and its true that u shud not wear capris if ur short!!!!

but u can make it suit ur body type evn if ur short!

so if ur short than dont go for really high capri instead go for a bit longer lets say which will come just below mid calf

just a lil bit not too much too low and it will make u look shorter too

so keep this in mind

and wear high heels to make u look leaner nd taller and make sure ur shoes dont have those straps that tie with ur ankles

go for strapless shoes that will show more legs and make them look longer

and u said ur having long shirt with it so with long shirts capris suit any body type even if ur skinny or curvy

doesnt matter

and the design of the outfit that u have described sounds good

this style of shirts make u look taller and thinner

so u can go for capri with ur eyes closed too

it will look good

and try having ur capri in darker colour it will make u look thinner and taller if ur not sure bout wearing a capri

and always wear dark shoes avoid lighter colours if ur not sure bout lookinh good in a any dress

darker shoes also make u look thinner

Re: would capris suit me?

yeah so i found an old shalwar from another suit an that matchedc perfectly with the kurta, so that saved me $35 for a shalwar and with that 35 i bought a new saree :balley:

Re: would capris suit me?

$35 for a saree? Where???

Re: would capris suit me?

India Saree Place in Jackson Heights... they have some pretty nice printed sarees in a flowy, soft fabric.. plain ready-made blouses are $9 and petticoat is 7.50.... there were also some nice sarees for $45 as well that come with unstitched blouse piece.

Re: would capris suit me?

does it already have the pleats and everything or you have to do that yourself? :hmmm:

Re: would capris suit me?

nah its unstitched, but u cud learn to do it urself so u can save urself $45 :)
