Worth our salutation

Supreme sacrifices

THE public does not realise the magnanimity of the sacrifice that some of the judges have made in refusing to take the oath under the PCO. I can tell about one of these judges.

Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman took the oath just four days before he refused to take another one under the PCO. He has 11 years to retire. This is just one more sacrifice that he has made for Pakistan.

He comes from a leading family of Bengal. His maternal grandfather was the deputy speaker of the Bengal assembly and a big landlord in East Pakistan. His mother lost her inheritance when the family decided to remain loyal to Pakistan instead of shifting to Bangladesh.

His father, Justice Hamoodur Rehman, was one of the most honest judges we ever had. He first lost property in Calcutta when he opted for Pakistan. Then he lost property in Dhaka upon opting for Pakistan again. When he retired, he had to work to make his ends meet. This family has sacrificed for Pakistan so many times only because they believe in its ideology.

Can the so-called civil society reward such men?

Re: Worth our salutation

Their sacrifices will not go unnoticed nor the person who ripped our judiciary to pieces will go unpunished, Inshallah.

Re: Worth our salutation

During these testing times a clear line is being created between people who worship power and people who stand for princples...when our history will be written Musharraf will go down in the history as Hitler/Stalin of Pakistan.....and these people will be recognised as the heroes of the nation who stood against this brutal tyrant...

Re: Worth our salutation

Here here... Such Judges are the true pride of the country. They would make Jinnah proud.

Re: Worth our salutation

I believe so.. In Pak history there are very few heroes, but these judges will be truly respected and adored by generation to come.

Re: Worth our salutation

The Justices of Pakistan are fighting for the Pakistan ( job which should be done by our "brave" forces and "Intellegent" politicians). My salutions are these Judges, all of them, no one can reward them for their sacrifices, niether can it be paid. These need to be remembered as Golden Personalities in History of Pakistan.
