I don't think he had any choice but to accept. What else could he have done, he had already attacked innocent people in Karachi in May and attacked TV stations in his quest to silence the CJ. He wants to hang on to power by hook and crook and accepting this humiliation was part of the same scheme. So sorry but no points and honour for him in "accepting" this decision.
Of course the worst is over. The opposition is getting more and more divided as the days go by, and all of them are stepping over each other to strike a deal with Musharraf.

Ask the people in Karachi what happened on 12 May and the tV stations they will tell you the govt. can and did send hurricane killing innocent people deliberately. So it is not that far fetched.
