100% agreed. Politicians are accountable to people and justice system. They can easily be replaced with better people either through impeachment or through elections. Where as dictator is not accountable to any one including highest courts of Pakistan and are eternal unless replaced with gun on head by another dictator, killed or bring disaster like breaking of country.

As regards best dictatorship, is just like believing "iblis" shaitan as god and obey his satanic verses. Last but not the least absolute power corrupts absolutely aor mulk ka behrah gharq jo nasal dar nasal azaab bardash karti hain, like Pakistan.

Accountable? like how? Anytime people ask questions ministers or their supporters blame military/establishment conspiracy against their party/leadership, so what accountability?

But then that is the truth. Unless army stop to behave most powerful political party, this delimma will continue.

To clarify Indonesia had a dictator for 40 years. South Korea for like 20 odd years and Taiwan for 20 years as well. Those dictators focused on national development, education and health services. Not like our military *******s who lined their own pockets with money.

The worst democracy will be a "true democracy" ... the best democracies are those autocracies that make a good show of democracy ... the best dictatorships are worse than the worse democracies because we are told they are ... and like unfit people who can't think for themselves we must believe what we are told.

Can you name these dictators? As far I know Suharto was involved in billions of dollars in corruption.

Some have given examples of moderately to highly successful countries such as Taiwan, South Korea, Greece, Spain, Turkey and Indonesia who used to have dictatroships in the distant past. The implicatoin being it is due to the dictratorhip past that these countries are doing OK.

Could it be that inspite of their dictatorship past, these countries are now doing OK to well because of democracy?

Nope. Because any decent political scientist or expert in international relations will tell you it takes at least 10 years for a country to see the results of its investments. India and its IT deregularization in 1994 is a perfect example. To further elaborate a common misconception is that you can just bring democracy to people. You can't. You need a substantial educated class for democracy to flourish. That is why all these countries focused on education from the 1960s to the 1980s and all their democracies are evident in the 1990s and not before.

^ OK I buy that I think. If education is th epre-requisite, one should be able to educate the masses in a democracy also. Not sure if dictatorship is the only way one can educate.

True in ideal circumstances. However in reality all 6 countries have flourished now because of dictatorships in its past.
