This may be in another thread in cyberspace, but who do you rank as the worst cricket commentators out there?
The worst is Krishmachary Shrikaanth,He talks as if he is everything of cricket or he wrote "the encyclopedia of cricket.
Arun Lal too obsessed with the word ish … leg sidish off sidish shortish longish ticklish … (god please be a little helpish to us)
Aamir Sohail:- Alrite, Im sorry, I forgot we are talking about commentators only (he can never be called one, he seems to be like a gunman fully loaded!!)
Athar Ali Khan: Hats off for shahreyar nafees, Hats off for Murtuza, Hats off for khalid mahmood.
i hate sivarama krishan...his english is good...but he sounds he is commentating on small kids playing in a school..aamir sohail sucks .too .especially his attempt at humor is corny
Most people probably wont understand what I’m talking about, but I’ll try and explain.
Funny incident 1:
The pitch in Rawalpindi is quite hard and shiny, so he says ‘this is what we call a sheeeesha wicket’. Sheesha means glass in urdu, and he elaborates his point. He says if you look at the wicket, it looks like its made of glass, and there isnt a blade of grass on the pitch. “See its so shiny, its like a mirror, which makes it look like glass, not grass”. He rambled on for a while, leaving people who happened to hear that comment in fits of laughter
Funny incident 2:
They showed a crowd shot of this kid. Sanjay Manjrekar says something about the kids haircut. Sikandar says, “thats what we call a piyala cut”. Piyala BTW means a bowl. He then says “In Pakistan, the barbers put a piyala on their customers head and cut round the piyala, getting that effect”. That was incredibly stupid, pointless, but extremely funny
Sivaramkrishnan is a good speaker, what irritates me is the way his tone goes up and down - dont know what he's trying to do, inject excitement artifically into the game or what.
No one beats Arun LOL and JAVA, as some said here one have "velocity" of light in his voice and other detect "two sounds" without any technology equipment :p
I think Aamir Sohail and Arun Lal make the worst commentators. Probably, no one would disagree with that. ON the best ones, I think Rameez Raja, Boycott, Shastri, Tony Greig, Ian Chappell, and Bill Lawry make pretty good commentators. Also, Robin Jackman and Barry Richards are good enough as well.
