I’ve been trying 4 a baby for 5 months now but without success
How long must a woman remain in bed after “the act” in order to let sperms swim into her?? How long should she not go to the bathroom?? Does a pillow placed under the hips help?? How long does it take for a healthy couple 2 conceive?
What foods must i avoid and which foods encourage fertillity.
I’ve already started folic acid and vitamin supplements.
At the end i would like you to pray 4 me! Thank you
Its depends person to person, there is no set time for conceiving. My Ob/gyn told me not to worry for the first years. If don't get preg for a year then they will try to do test or put me on medication.
I don't have knowledge about the other question you asked.
Take it easy, its been only 5 months, things will work out for you.
Good Luck

This is the first time I'm hearing of this. How the hell is how long you stay in bed after sex supposed to help? Its not like the sperm cells are going to jump off the bed and crawl up into your vaginal cavity and up the vaginal canal if you stay in bed like 15 minutes after sex...
I'm sorry, maybe married ladies who have been to actual doctors and read up on the subject may know more about this...but those suggestions seem a bit absurd.
my fertility doc told me to put a pillow under my hips to elevate my vagina , so that the sperms coudl travel all the way up the uterus (somehting liek that)....and they say to lie that like that for a good half hour!!!! otherwise if u just get up and walk around, the sperm could "fall out"...didnt u watch that eposides on friends when pheobe was having her brother's kids and she was lying on the sofa with her feet up???? try that....
and sinckers..dotn worrry...5 months is nothing...wait until a year, then worry about it..for me its almost 3 years!!!...and the worst question i get is "how come ur not pregnant yet? are u guys not trying??"..augghh!!!!!
anyways good luck, and pray for me too!
p.s also good to have sex in the morning (doc told me that too)..something about the sperm more active than at night...
thanks mahru!! all my cousins think im their preg doc...alwasy coming to me for advice on how to get preg (what days to try on, any hint)..and lucky for them, they get preg so soon, while im just sitting here waiting for my day to come....:(...ah well, it will happen when it will happen...no worries....
Half an hour is an overkill. 10 minutes is what doctors recommend.
Natural missonary position is the best. No need for pillows.
If you want to conceive, do not try each day of the week. Actually, some people get frustrated that they are trying for more than one time per day and still cannot conceive. Sperms need time to mature. 3 times a week is enough.
Don't get anxious. A study indicates that a relaxed women has more chances to conceive than a tense woman.
There are other techniques as well, which I am sure you won't need. Best wishes.
Dont always jump to everything.. obg docs recommend staying in bed for some time for conceiving .. check from some doc before always shouting how the hell…
You need to have a relaxed lifestyle in order to ensure hormone imbalances from stress do not intefere with the ability of an egg to fertilise an implant itself properly in the uterus.
You need to be relaxed for weeks leading up to and several weeks after the act.
PS: If making babies was supposed to be fun then God wouldn’t have given us the gift of IVF
How to maximise your chances of conceiving
You can do a great deal to improve your chances of conception by paying attention to your health and lifestyle. These changes in your lifestyle will be useful when you are pregnant as well.
Take good care of your health
Keep sperm cool
Have sex at the right time
Checking your cervical mucus
Checking your temperature
Ovulation predictor kits
Have frequent sex
Pre-pregnancy checklist
ü Diet: Are you eating sensibly? Make a positive effort to include fruit, vegetables, cereals and protein in your diet. At the very least, say no to junk food!
ü Vitamins and minerals: Are you taking a folic acid supplement?
ü Rubella: Have you asked your GP to check your immunity to German measles? If you are not immune, ask for an inoculation before you get pregnant
ü Exercise: Are you keeping fit? Regular, gentle exercise will keep you healthy, but don’t embark upon a new and taxing regime
ü Smoking: The best thing you can both do for yourself and your baby is to give up. Have you given up, or tried to cut down?
ü Alcohol: Are you drinking no more than a moderate amount?
ü Drugs and medication: Does your GP know you are planning a pregnancy? Avoid all drugs unless they are prescribed for you by a GP who knows that you are trying for a baby
ü Work environment: If you work in a hazardous environment, have you asked about safety at work or whether you could change jobs while you are trying to conceive?
ü Stress: High stress levels have been linked to infertility, so if you are trying to conceive, cut down on as many stresses in your life as you can. Try a yoga class or relaxation tape to use at home
ü Your GP: A good GP is a very valuable thing, but sometimes you and your health professional just don’t get along. If you feel that a poor relationship is having an impact on your care, then you do have the right to find someone else to look after you
Foods to avoid
Some foods carry tiny risks for pregnant women and therefore you may like to avoid them when you are trying to conceive. These include:
Soft cheeses, especially those made with unpasteurised milk, which may carry listeria. There is a small risk that listeria can cause an infection which may lead to miscarriage
Liver or foods containing liver, like pates, as these contain high levels of vitamin A
Raw or undercooked meats which can carry listeria
Pre-cooked chilled meals, which may carry food poisoning organisms if they are not thoroughly reheated until piping hot
Ready-washed salads which have been shown to sometimes carry listeria. Wash all vegetables and salads before you eat them
Lightly-cooked eggs. Hard boil eggs until the whites and yolk are solid to avoid possible risk of salmonella
The female reproductive tract is slightly acidic while seminal secretions are slightly basic. The fluids mix together and kick-start the swimming process.
Wonders of our bodies!
