Worn out phrases

that our dear commentators use endlessly again and again. And again.

-Cool as a cucumber
-Cat on a hot tin roof
-When the chips are down

more?

Re: Worn out phrases

Not out of the woods yet :rotfl:. I hate it! Rameez Cliche Raja has also used the word “purchase” around 2 million times in the series so far.

Re: Worn out phrases

Actually they are not worn out phrases as such but have become cricketing terminlogies as such.

A bowler is ’ spraying it all over ’ when he is bowling badly :hehe:

Re: Worn out phrases

"lusty shots." "it's all happening here."

Re: Worn out phrases

I miss Sidhuism.

Re: Worn out phrases

Its more like ‘Lusty Blows’

:rotfl: Astaghfirullah!

Re: Worn out phrases

Hmm sidhu was actually the opposite of these guys. He was biased but the analogies he brought in from everyday life were just out of the world and pretty creative.

Sidhu: “Indian team are like bicycle stand. When one goes down they all go down.”

Re: Worn out phrases

this has to be the most used line!

Re: Worn out phrases

I like Furnitue is disturbed :)

Re: Worn out phrases

from the winning captain, at the presentation ceremony....
the boys did well....

Re: Worn out phrases

it's more like and I quote, 'the boys do well today'

Re: Worn out phrases

i thought they batted brilliantly

Re: Worn out phrases

Australian commentators, even after the Australian players have misfielded for the umpteenth time " A rare misfield by ...... (whoever)".

Re: Worn out phrases

I hate it when Rameez calls the bat "the Stick" I mean come on!!!

Re: Worn out phrases

yeah - well said all of you

but none can beat the;

Catch drop karnay say batsman ko ziyada runs score karnay ka mauqa mill jata hay

that has to the MOST EXPERTEST COMMENT in the history of cricket :halo:

Re: Worn out phrases

Rameez uses “Cool as a Cumber” like 10 times in every game

Re: Worn out phrases

^ Lol yeah man. I wonder if anyone has ever told him about this. I was never that keen in cricket in the 90s and i had never known Ramiz as a batsman but im beginning to like him as a commentator. Especially the way he disses Manjrekar in the most polite manner. :hehe:

Re: Worn out phrases

"...business area". like "he hit the ball right through the business area"

Re: Worn out phrases

its more like :::

Catch drop karnay say batsman ko ziyada RUNSAIN score karnay ka mauqa mill jata hay..

they not only break the legs of commentary, but of URDU as well..

Re: Worn out phrases

I like the way Inzamam speaks. He uses IS after every two words - Is boys play well and is pitch good and is we win. :D
