**Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, US President George Bush, and French President Jacque Chirac are the world’s worst “Islamphobes” of 2004, according to a leading British Muslim rights group. **
The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) selected the three leaders on Saturday, marking the annual “Islamophobia Awards” to highlight what they described as growing anti-Muslim prejudice.
“It is with great sadness that we reveal this year’s winners,” the commission said in a statement.
“Sadly, the competition was extremely tough and we see no signs of this abating in the year to come.”
While the awards are satirical, commission Chairman Massoud Shadjareh said demonisation of Muslims was now comparable to that endured by the Jewish community before and during World War Two.

Bush got the top “Islamophobe of the year” award for his anti-terror war, which the IHRC claimed was in fact a crusade against Islam. Chirac and Israel’s Sharon were named joint winners of the “Most Islamophobic International Politician”.
Chirac outraged Muslims last year when he termed the Islamic headscarf as “aggressive” during a campaign to ban all religious symbols from public schools.
Sharon was included after another year of Israeli-Palestinian violence. “Sharon has a whole history of being Islamophobic and basically racist over Palestine and the way that the Palestinians have been treated,” Shadjareh said.
When 6 million Muslims are rounded up, put into concentration camps, tortured, and put into human ovens let’s talk. Until then this group needs to get a life because as much as they want to claim victimhood, this ain’t no Holocaust. Perhaps they should use their time more wisely and address the root causes for the ‘demonization of Muslims’ and come up with some awards to go the the distinguished groups mentioned by Matsui.
Just pointing out the atrocities committed by muslims does not make one an islamophobe. It is you refusal to condemn anything at all done by a muslim, just beacuse he is a muslim bro that makes you see everyone as an Islamophobe. I don't remember ak47 the last time that you personally ciriticised any atrocity committed by a muslim. At least come out and state honestly that you will not condemn any atrocity committed by a muslim. We will then know how good a muslim you yourself are.

Not surprising that Islamosnobs (I can make up words too) judge other peoples' knowledge like they judge everything else, when they don't have a clue. You don't have to be an ayatollah (or Islamophobe whatever that is) to see the victim mentality play itself out in this silly satirical award ceremony. IHRC' time would be better spent handing out awards to those who are really demonizing Islam - JeM, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, JI, MLF, Janjaweed, etc.
