I landed at the Indira Gandhi Airport in 1991, though at that time, quite honestly it didnt look that bad though I was quite young, but the first thing I remember was that this tall gora tourist was holding this Indian security official by the neck and literally raising him all the way up and he was squeling! The airport wasnt all that dirty back then, but on the way back this one was chap at one of the sit in restaurants/bars was selling coke for Rs. 60 per glass (quite expensive back then).

Hmm i was at CDG back in 1996, its not that bad now! But i do recall a funny incident from then. I had to spend about 6 hours at CDG airport between connecting flights. During those 6 hours all i heard was french french and more french. Then at one time i had to board a bus and go over to another terminal. The bus was pretty packed to the point that me and a couple other ladies were standing close enough to the doors that it seemed like we were going to be crushed by the door soon as it closed. At the point the door started closing, i blurted out an "*Uh Oh!". *The door didnt really crush me but the couple ladies standing next to me look at me and go *Hey you speak english! Finally someone that speaks english! *It was funny because that was my exact reaction too, finally someone that spoke english.

I hate CDG too. Once I had a connecting flight thru there and had to move to another terminal and there was sooooo much walking, and those corridors reminded me of nightmares where you're being chased down un-ending corridors. Then I finally got to the right terminal and inquired about where the airline counter was that I needed to get to (I think it was the United window that I asked) and the stupid, rude people wouldn't give me a proper answer. Later I found out that my airline counter was right behind their's. Wanted to go strangle those guys.

in jaipur we have bus stand more organized than that..
Mumbai is relatively better...
BTW you guys need to see the Delhi T3 (Terminal 3 ) design.... its awesome... i cant wait for the T3 to get finished...
oh wait... i am from jaipur and they are building an international airport in jaipur too...

In Pakistan they have these circular booths where you can use free internet, but they make you watch some advertisements while you do...

Well i was born in Jaipur. My parents are from rajasthan. but i was mostly raised in MP and what is now chattisgarh. I lived in other north Indian states too.
I have no home town 
if you ask me where i am from.. i cant tell 
. i feel same for all the places i lived. since i was born in jaipur i consider myself rajasthjani
the longest i lived anywhere is louisiana… and i aint no cajun

My impression of Indra Ghandi Int airport in 2002 was very poor also. The corners had pan spittings, the plain cloths cops where so conspicious the way they were standing every 20 metres. The other cops were holding machine guns everywhere!!, the toilets were smelling of stink, the place was devoid of any paintings or plants, it was drab and such a let down after Singapore's Changi airport. The difference was stark.
Outside the airport it was a mad house, with crowds thronging all around - the taxi wallahs trying to grab your luggage and force you to use their Taxi's. The poor Tourists - I bet a few of them would have left India after seeing the utter confusion at the airport itself

I saw Delhi airport the last time I went to India and it seemed clean and decent enough with the wall paintings, drawings and the statues in the arrivals area…not sure about departures but my first impression of it was nice.

well u are right.. my parents place should be my hometown.. but for some reason i cannot connect to it so much.. i feel more like an indori than jaipuri..
but with jaipur or rajasthan i feel like i have connection from last life..
delhi airport is improving... but it needs to be best of the best. nothing less than that is exceptable..
BTW my screen name is kaka but i aint no kaka either..
