the reason we refuse to support this team is because of 1996 and 1999 when they failed to show up in key matches. we will not be made fools of again. as far as I am concerned, these people are professional representing their country and they take no pride in doing so. our support or lack thereof should have no impact on their performance. after all, we're not the ones out on the pitch playing, they are. in the past, all we have asked for is discipline and commitment to team and there is NOTHING that has occurred since our defeat in 1999 that makes me believe this World Cup will be any different.
beware of England and Zimbabwe, we'll be lucky to make it to the Super Six.
With Chris Craines back for New Zealand, they are my outside bet.
For some reason, I can’t see Ricky Ponting leading Australia to a consecutive World Cup win. He is not Steve Waugh and never will be.
South Africa are my favorites to win with a suprise appearence from New Zealand.
But my prayers are with Pakistan. Inshallah they will win

Australia are way better than anyone else. I've just been watching them destroy England yet again today and that was without McGrath and Gillespie. Only a bad day in the KO stages can work against them.
After that it's SA and Pakistan for me. I don't think any of the other teams have got what it takes.

SAF may have got better of Pak but in wc they will choke big time.

I disagree Ehsan bhai, Its all bout handling the pressue as Great Imran khan said.:) I have a gut feling that Ponting wont lift the Cup. It may not necesserily be Pakistan (God Forbid) It was Steve Waugh who took all the pressure on himself and made sure his team qualified for the Semis. And Ponting already has shown vulnerabilities in his captaincy.

yeah and they have picked bits and peices cricekterss like Hogg and Watson. And thats Aussies weak point, They lack a credible all rounder.
in 99 Tom Moody did a pretty good job for them. Aussies have nearly choked even in this VB series. So they can be put under pressure. And when they are put under pressure, thier strategy usually is hitting out and playing shots. And in crunch matches, it seldom pays.
