World Tax Rates

How much do you guys pay in overall taxation i.e. income tax, local taxes, sales taxes etc? I believe that the average working British citizen pays about 35% (or less) in overall taxation of their gross earnings, making the UK one of the lowest taxed countries in Europe at least.

This site gives some of the tax rates around the world, and it does show some pretty high tax rates for countries like Belgium, Denmark, France, etc.

Canadian tax rate... in canadian $$

0 to 30,754 16% Plus Alberta Flat Tax (10%)= 26%

30,755 to 61,509 22% Plus Alberta Flat Tax (10%)= 32%

61,510 to 100,000 26% Plus Alberta Flat Tax (10%)= 36%

100,001 and above 29.5% Plus Alberta Flat Tax (10%)= 39.5%

Cyprus here I come! Now I can understand why companies get incorporated overseas. Imagine a company like GE moving overseas. They would save like 20-40% in taxes (I assume they would still pay taxes on actual sales made in the US)

I guess you are in the top bracket, huh Abdali? ;)

Then again it is noticeable that those European countries that do have much higher taxation rates, have far better public services and infrastructure than the UK, which is not a heavy tax country. Just look at the mess the public services are in the UK, and no government dares put up taxes to fund the massive infrastructural development that is desperately needed.
