Nes, i watched it and it was the ugliest game ive ever seen in any sport (barring a couple of NBA games). It was fun to see the europeans kicking eachothers arse around for a change ;)

Ronaldo will be fine. And why are the Portuguese being singled out as cheats, pray tell :o ? The Dutch players acted like much bigger pathans.

The second half of the match was truly a disgrace. Portugal is better than Netherlands and they deserved to win, without a doubt.
Now, it is unmistakable that the referee is the main person to blame for what happened last evening. It all began by not doing what he should to stop Holland’s lack of fair-play.
The foul on Ronaldo was with clear intent to injure him and it should have been direct red card; there was blatant diving by a few Dutch players; the match was twice interrupted because of Portuguese players injury (actually in both cases Portugal was on the attack and in an excellent situation to score!) and the Dutch players did not return the ball like it should be done; there was indeed foul against Figo (in the interview after the match you could see he was injured in his cheek); according to the referee standards there were many yellow cards that should have been shown to Dutch players and weren’t (mainly for diving, pushing, shoving…).
Now, Costinha was absolutely immature (though I think the handball, given that it was in no situation of real good opportunity for Netherlands to score, did not require a yellow card; however maybe he deserved the red for the previous foul); Figo’s (soft!) headbutt was also completely unnecessary, but I reckon it was more of a physical move of “imposing himself” without real intent of hitting – the problem was they ended up too close and hitting each other, in fact, with more swaying from Figo); Deco’s yellow was also absolutely unnecessary and too risky given the emotions during the match, but I have the absolute feeling that he took the ball to give it back to a Dutch player the second after (didn’t get a chance to do it because he was ‘rugbied’).
Netherlands should be ashamed of its team, but I think some of Portuguese players should not have lowered their play to Dutch’s level (even if it was not done at the same extent).
However… how come from all 26 fouls during the match, Portugal has only 10 and 9 of these were awarded with cards? This says something. There were definitely too many cards given unnecessarily to both teams and some not given as they should! Bad match for history to remember, but the best and deserving definitely won.

This Ref could not have started on a wrong foot by handing out a card in like 5 minutes. He could have talked and calmed the situation down but no he had to show a card

Bah, what a horrible match that was! I'm glas Holland lost at the end though (yes that's coming from a supporter!) I just know I couldn't bare a Hol-Eng quarter final... too much for my poor heart :D

This match was sooooooo predicteble.. Portugal is 2 strong for Holland.. thas a fact.. I was supporting portugal.. I jumped on ma bed when Portugal made a goal..
I hope Portugal will kick the hell out of England..!

oye.. listen.. Y the hell should I be ashamed of MA team..?? I know from the beginning that Portugal is too strong for Holland.. But that doesnt mean that Holland sucked..N I should b ashamed..
In ma opinion they played really well in the previous matches.. Juz bcoz they couldnt win against Portugal doesnt mean they suck..!
Holland played hard but Portugal played smart..!

i think what got portugese so pissd off was that foul on ronaldo early in the match..am not sure if that deserved a red card or whether it was deliberate..but thats what got the portugese pissd off and they started going after the dutch in the 2nd half...dutch were a bit unlucky to have lost...they had more shots on the goal than portugal n one of those shots should've gone in.
