Not sure if this is posted before, and if it is, then please merge with the other thread. Dish Network has announced that ICC World Cup in March-April 07 is available as a package for $199.95
Pretty reasonable pricing, I’d say, considering some of the past trends. DirecTV which was advertising for $249.95, presumably has also reduced their price.
Too bad, cricket won’t be on high-definition. Or at least I don’t think West Indies will broadcast in HD.
It is only because of Direct Tv that Dish is now offering packages for reasonable prices. Things indeed have changed fsince WC 2003 when the price was $300
If I am not mistaken, DirecTV was advertising WC '07 package for $249.95 and has just now lowered their price to $199.95 as well. Not sure if they lowered it to match Dish, or if they are sensing a much higher volume of sales if they keep prices below two hundred bucks; and Dish followed suit.
Either way, short of getting an FTA (which is likely illegal when you 'steal' satellite signals) or a mufta (internet stream), this is a great price and a good deal for customers. Rejoice!
I'll go for some online "service provider" who (charges 25-30 and) replay the game till next scheduled game and that allow me to watch the game even if I missed it :)
I am really hopeful that they will provide complementary online streaming thru Willow to those subscribers who will purchase the Dish World Cup PPV. This will allow me to watch it at work as well.
