on Jun 27th. I was supporting Ghana in the group matches but they are facing the champs already and here is where they will be eliminated. I watched Ita vs US match, found Italian team really sux, and was thinking/hoping that Brazil won’t take the cup but man that Aus vs Bra game was good!
Anyway, back to Ghana vs Brazil! Can they cause the BIGGGG upset and beat Brazil? We’ll know on 27th June, join us here!
Brazil has never lost a World Cup game to an African team. The last time Brazil played Ghana - I think in '96, they won 8-2 or something.
I guess at the end of the day, it's just a question of which Ghana team will show up? You see, one thing that always hurts when being the youngest team in the World Cup is that you're gonna make "rookie" mistakes. Ghana did not play their 'A' game against the US...but they still won. Be sure though, that Ghana cannot come out against Brazil next week and make those same mistakes, because even though the US couldn't capatilize on it...Brazil damn sure will. Ghana have to come out and play like they did against the Czech Republic (when they played their 'A' game). They've to get in Brazil's face and take it to them. Make THEM play catch up (like Japan, only the key is to keep the lead). I truly believe that when Ghana plays to their full potential - they can contend with anybody! Problem is though, they're not terribly consistent. Hence, I ask the question....which Ghana team is gonna show up to play Tuesday?
I think it will be hard for Ghana to beat Brazil but I hope they can beat them.
One question about Ghana if some can help me.
In the 1st round games every time Ghana goal, one of the player would take out a medium size piece of cloth and wave it, even after winning the game one or two player would take out that piece of cloth and wave it. To me that piece of cloth looked like Israel flag. Could some one shed some light? Is it really an Israeli flag or I was color blinded? If it was Israeli flag why the Ghanian were waving it?
I hope some could solve the mystery for me.
Thank you.
John Pantsil plays for Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv, and he would take the flag out from his sock and wave it around to "thank" the club and all its fans for supporting him and Ghana.
Apparently he had no idea what he was really doing for the international scene. None the less, I believe Ghana spokesman apologized and said it was just a harmful gesture. Don't expect it to happen again.
Ghana will be missing one of their best two players: Essien.
Depends how they cope this loss and how they cope with their nerves. If Brazil won't score in the first 20 mins, I think we will see an evenly balanced match
