As far as the team is concern there is no doubt S.A. is one of the best team and were favorites for the 92 World Cup. PAK got a chance with that 1 point due to the rain and the match was tied. Now this was the same PAK team who almost lost the World Cup they were even defeated by indians but that same team went on and lifted the World Cup on basis they were given a chance and they executed that chance really well.
I have seen here so many guppies talked about that IF PAK had not gotten that 1 point due to rain they would have never won the World Cup but none of you appreciate the fact that after PAK had a chance to win the Cup they did not made any mistake to lift the CUP. They cruise their way to the top by beating anyone who came in their way. I can guaranty you if at that point even S.A. tried to come in their way they would have got beaten.
You guys are trying to show that winning the CUP is not a big deal but being defeated in few games and getting a chance due to the rain is a big deal. I mean no one talks about what they(PAK) did after the point they got back into the tournament but everyone seems stuck at the point where they were given a chance due to that one match being tied. If after that tied match they had failed to cruise through then I can understand your point of blaming PAK not to win the cup even though they were given a chance to do so. But since they executed that chance really well and you are still complaining about PAK victory then I think its just simple jealousy but nothing else. And I can understand that too cuz there were a lot of people who really thought PAK could never make it to the final and lift the CUP. But PAK turned around and slapped them on their face by wining the 92 World Cup.
Hey Umair and Spock I wonder why people get stuck at the point where PAK tied the match and got a chance to go on and win the cup. Seems like they still can’t believe PAK won the World Cup in their mind they just can’t move forward or take the reality further down to PAK victory
There have been so many incidence in the history of cricket but no one talks about any of em but they keep bouncing back to PAK chance in the 92 World Cup. Wonder why ppl make it such a big deal and not consider PAK performance and victory after the point PAK started to cruise. Then I had a 2nd thought and that is if you look at the number of ppl who have viewed this thread and the number of ppl who have replied the ratio is something like 9:2 (not perfect just assume). So that conclude there are more ppl who are happy about PAK winning the 92 Cup and they just don’t want to reply or even bother with those who are damn jealous because they know the fact PAK won the Cup and those who still can’t believe PAK won the 92 Cup and can’t resist to comment negatively

Quit whinning Asif, just because your pathetic team couldn't win a single series outside India in 16 years, and now blaming it on the pakistanis.
Beatle_ki_wapsi, yes you are correct, Pakistan's chances would have been much less to win if South Africa would have been there opponent, but does it really matter? because Pakistan played like a dominating team in the final and no team even SA had any chance of stopping them. Pakistan just simply outclassed England, and don't you think they could have done the same against SA.
But I had to feel sorry for SA, because that was a completley stupid decision and they deserved to win that match but they would have lost to Pakistan anyway in finals so it didn't realy matter.
All in all Pakistan was the best team of the tournament, and they will do the same next year as well.

PT, I agree with you, Had it not been for the Stupid DUCKWORTH-LEWIS RULE, Pak would have won that match.
To others - Pak was destined to win the Tournament. First they got a draw from England as a compensation for their match against SA. Second they still needed australia to win the match against WI to stop WI from Qualifying and of course Had SA been in the finals - It may have been a different story, but I will not make any hypothetical statement here and give full Credit to Imran Khan and his Team. Yes They deserved it more than any other team.
Who stopped Kiwis? Didnt they kick some serious a$$ in the world cup by winning all their matches against all the teams, only to get loose two matches in a row against the Pakistanis?
Pakistan won the 1992 world cup, and those that are having a hard time believing that can stick it, and have a jealous look at Imrans beautiful crystal trophy and get boiled up...
To me, this was the best world cup... Not just because Pakistan won it, but it was simply the best in all regards...
