48.2 Malinga to Peterson, FOUR, Peterson does it for SA with a edge past the slip. Fullish, outside off stump, Peterson drives, gets a outside edge and it runs down to third man boundary. SA have won. They choked at the end but have pulled it off. Peterson jumps in the air, pumps his fist and then smashes the stumps down at the other end. Immediately apologises!

You know and I know, it was an outside "lucky" edge. It could easily been caught behind. They didn't even come rushing out to celebrate.

Not sure if you were wrong before or now, but with SA winning the game after all, your "match-fixing" rumors are probably down the gutter too.

Malinga single-handedly brought SL back in the game. Good for SA that Peterson stuck around and got the edge thru the slips.

If they had just survived Malinga's over, the 50th over by Mahroof could have been an anti-climax.

Anyway, good match. No. Actually a fantastic match. Some how South Africa manage to insert themselves in all the nail biters of a World Cup.

Malinga: "I am feeling bad that we lost the game but I am happy that I took a hattrick. The old ball was going to reverse and I got the wickets. I tried to get five in a row but unfortunately didn't get it. ... We are a fighting team but I think we didn't have enough runs."

ahhh..Sri Lanka is my favorite team after pakistan.....Malinga almost did what his hero waqar younis did for pakistan at least 20 times....no wonder we pakis miss waqar and wasim so much...back in early 90s, we used to watch such magical dramas in almost every other match....

:D What happened to that equation in 4 balls! Sensational stuff from Malinga, he is the next big star. Saffies got their asses saved by a lucky edge down to thirdman today, but the chokers won't have any place to hide if they play the Lankans again.
