Re: World Cup 2007 Super 8, Guyana: South Africa v Sri Lanka
sri lanka is 114/5 after 30 overs
on pace for 190 runs which South Africa can make up in 25 overs
We'll let Kallis start as opening batsman to let the innings last langer than 25 overs. The sponsors do have to get their paid time. (Just watch me disappearing if SL pull this one off :) )
Re: World Cup 2007 Super 8, Guyana: South Africa v Sri Lanka
Interesting stats on Pollock. Seems like on these slow-low wickets as if he is targeted in the last two games. First AUS climbed into him and then SL. During the Sl game Smith pulled him off after 4 overs. He came back for 4 overs in middle term.
32 runs from first 4 overs (8.0 runs per over)
14 runs from second 4 overs (3.5 runs per over)
Maybe Smith should use Pollock during the middle stages when the field can be set more to his bowling. I would like to see Kallis with the new ball...
Re: World Cup 2007 Super 8, Guyana: South Africa v Sri Lanka
Good fight back from SL definitely.
And they should be able to get 250 from here. That will be a good defendable total with Murli in the attack for SL.
Re: World Cup 2007 Super 8, Guyana: South Africa v Sri Lanka
South Africa only needs 210 runs. They can tremendously improve their net run rate as well.
Well..With So many bunnies in the group I dont think it will come down to run rate for SA.
I mean how hard could it be to be top 4 in a a Super 6 league.

Yeah I don't think RSA and AUS needs to worry about run rate.
