Interesting news in my newspaper this morning.

Apparently because of Langeveld's bowling, the Man of the Match award was decided to be his and the announcer was informed. THEN Malinga struck with his 4 off 4 and they could not prevent the announcer giving the MoM award to Langeveld. They have now changed everything and Langeveld AND Malinga will share the award.

I do not understand one thing, when Nell is also playing why do proteas leave out Hall and keep Langeveld's? To me Hall appears more useful than Langervelds.

Stupid quotas.

7 of the 15 HAVE to be non-white (as per definition before ANC came into power)

There are many beter bowlers than Telemarkus but he is the 5'th quota player.
There are many better ODI batsmen than Loots (a brilliant 20/20 player and who I think will replace Kallis in the 20/20 WC later this year) but he is the 6'th quota player.
There are many beter spin bowlers than Peterson but he is the 7'th quota player.

4 of 11 playing HAVE to be non-white.

Players on merit in the side are Gibbs (clasified as non-white!), Ntini, Prince and Langeveldt. If ANY of these players are to be left out, they have to be replaced with the non-merit 3 quota players - even if it mean shuffeling the batting order.

I actually think Langeveldt is doing a fair to good job and wouldn't want him replaced.

It is crazy to think that South Africa was once isolated because of racism (only whites were picked for the national side) and here we are playing with yet more racism (quotas) in the selecting of the team.

Imagine Kevin Peterson also to be available for the Proteas! Unfortunately he most probably would replace Prince (quota player) and never would be selected. Peterson himself stated that the quota system was the primary reason why he left SA to play in Engeland.

Absolutely moronic NOT to pick your absolutely best for a tournament like this.
