What makes me wonder is that although all Pakistanis want Pakistan to win, naturally and we want Pakistan to win in all sports all the time, but sadly that is never gonna happen. We win some, we lose some. Its only a game. Why is it so hard for some people to accept?
This forum is supposed to be a place, where Pakistanis (and non-Pakistanis) are expected to come and give their opinions on various sporting events. Some members have taken it upon themselves to be the sole guardians (thaikedaar) of patriotism and use all sorts of intimidation to redicule people who just want to give their honest assessment. This creates an unfortunate hang-up in the environment here.
Its ok to disagree... especially if we are merely taking a peek into the future and are trying to guess, but the way some members behave, gives a clue why so many fights break out in this forum, which should ideally be an epitome of civility and good-natured sporting discussion. It might merely be an indication of their insecurity and immaturity but in actuality it is quite sad.
Being Pakistani or any other nationality, doesn’t mean that you are going to win all the time. It’s in everyones heart for their country to win, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to indict on to another for not expecting the home team to win “always”.
If this was the case, then all sports journalists from around the world would never be allowed back in their home country, for expecting opposing teams to win, etc.. etc..
There have been too many people here, who rate Pakistan with Australia in One Day’s, and put other teams in lower status. Also I have seen many jokes made up of against other opposing teams. But realistically, I don’t see Pakistan succeeding that well, until they fix their internal problems.
Every team has it’s time to shine. If it’s not Pakistan’s this 4 years, so what!? It’s not the end of the world guys, sports are meant to be competitive, and for the love of the game, I hope each team tries it’s hardest, to the fullest potential.
My prediction, is for Australia to win, with South Africa a close contender. Possible 4: Aus, RSA, Ind, and England (suprise maybe?).
Agreed. :k: … No doubt, Wasim is the bst bowler in the world, but only when he plays for his counrty in mind, other wise he have proved several times what kind of disaster he can be …
