how about that, i have asthma too. but since i've started working out my inhaler use have decreased from usual 6 inhales per day to 1 inhale per day.
few weeks ago i red an article that working out/exercising/jogging and eating clean really helps to boost lungs performance and makes them stronger. this article was directed towards asthma patients and recovering lung cancer patients and recovering chain smokers...
mine isn't too bad. But I have no idea where my inhaler is so I have been getting by without it. The other day I had to take a break while working out becaues I couldnt breathe.
So I have heard many different ways of working out. I just wanted to see what is the best work out method that will produce optimum results.
I heard that you need to do cardio for at least 20 minutes before your body starts to burn fat, after that you are supposed to do muscle training (sit ups, crunches, etc).
I have also heard that you should do muscle training such as lifting weights first and than do cardio.
Which method is better?
It is best to workout for atleast 60min/day and in those min you should do a warm up and a cool down for 7/-10 min and do cardio for 30 min and for the rest of the time do some stretched because you need to increase the range of motion of your joints. you should also do cardio first because it increases your heart rate and as a result increase the heart's endurance and also the volume of the lungs increase and exercising also brings the body temperature up and therefore your muscles can be streched at a further distance. 30min of exci a day is good if you want to maintain the benefits of exercise that includes improved heart endurance but 60min/day is ideal for a weight loss plan.I hope this helps ...
Thanks for all the advice. My plan is going pretty good. My appetite has definitely decreased, and I about 4-5 lbs away from my goal. After I reach my goal I will work on my stomach.
Alyna, do you work out to stay fit, or are you attempting to lose weight?
Guys, I have another issue. I have had asthma like symptoms and was prescribed an albuterol inhaler. However I no longer use the inhaler and am able to exercise. I do feel that my throat gets really dry while working out even after drinking water. It feels like my throat is closing up, and my lungs are not pushing air. I have to to take deep breaths in order to get past this. I really don't want to have to take an inhaler when I work out, and when I have in the past I havent seen much difference. Any tips?

this is scary part.
my throat also dries up but due to thirst so i just keep water bottle nearby. Seriously you should consult a doctor.

you should always concern a physician to get a medical clearance before starting any exercise program...According to me,you are probably pushing yourself too hard... It is very important that you breath from your mouth and exhale from your nose while you are working out and I don't no if u have a heart rate monitor or not but if not I would suggest that you should get one and if u r just starting your exercise, give your body sometime to adjust to it n try to maintain your heart rate between 75-45% heart rate that can b calculated using the equation (220-age)x0.75 and (220-age)x0.45 so whatever the two answers will be, try to maintain your heart beat between that range...
desibeautii....you should pick up this book called the "Abs Diet for women"....it has a good diet plan thats based around healthy foods (no cutting carbs or a food group etc) and some exercises too...explains alot of stuff..very informmative.
