Working Moms

So now that my infant is no longer an infant…I feel the need to do more activities with him.

I want to take him places, find stuff for us to do and make sure he’s not always just hanging out with the two of us.

The problem is…everything happens on like a Monday at 11am. :mad2: When I am at work.

How are other moms handling this?

Any ideas?

Re: Working Moms

Children's museum membership? You can go in on the weekends or after work.

Some libraries have weekend story times.. Check them out.

zoos?

It's not easy when you are working full time.. If you can have flexible schedule may be take a day off every other week and work an extra hour everyday as in 9/80 schedule? Since most activities do happen during the day on a weekday :-)

Re: Working Moms

bounce houses, swimming lessons in the evening, we have a children's museum and science museum that are great for the kids (but those are weekend things as well.)

Parks!!

we also go on nature walks, my four-year old collects leaves. We recently started to color them too...but just so you know i have a huge box full of dry leave :{

Re: Working Moms

ugh. exactly!! we usually go to the park or play areas after work or try to do something fun on weekends like bounce houses, mall play areas, picnics at the park, etc.

i'd appreciate ideas for fun to do ideas during the week (after work)

Re: Working Moms

I know, right? I hate that toddler activities at the library are like at 10 am on weekdays, and no activities whatsoever on weekends :(
We just try and make it work with what we've got. In summer we went to the nearby park often, let her play in the leaves, water etc. Children's museum, aquarium in winter. There are also indoor play places - like the Tree House in Chicago. We've been meaning to go - heard a lot of good things.
My daughter also enjoys just exploring whatever I'm doing in the house. Just yesterday I gave her potato peels to play with and she loved it! She likes pulling clothes out of the dryer or emptying the dishwasher. We also do puzzles, building (lego) or read books.
On days where I am clueless what activities to do, I just set up a play date with my friend's son and then both us moms can relax while the kids run around ;)
