Theorist and ehl-e-chamman, this income 'imbalance' is an issue even in Western marriages. There's a lot of research on how this is hurting men and leading to divorces. So, what you make out to be normal, isn't. You're very blessed to be in this sort of a situation.

For all working couples, does any wife earn more than the husband? How do the marriage dynamics work then?
I do as well, and it doesn't change much. Just that I put a bit more towards running our home than he does. But luckily my husband doesn't see me making more as a threat to his ego.

They buy expensive makeup and clothes and make their husbands and in laws pay for everything else and tell people that they are a pure angel hearted and working women who's husband controls all her earnings.

She never stated or even hinted at her arrangement being "normal". She simply stated that a arrangement like hers is capable of being successful (ie. there are many variations of successful marriages out there). A marriage where the woman earns more isn't automatically headed for doom.
