What kind of work you do from home?
Its computer related--web development and all..and i wont be working with any company..its the home business.
Re: working from home.
It may be easy initially because the baby is sleeping most of the time, only get up for the feed and diaper change and stay up for a very little while but as they grow, it gets difficult. However it depends on the child too. Personally I find it diffuclt to concentrate on work with the baby. It is easier to work from home with my toddler as he can get busy with his own things but it is more difficult for me to work from home with my baby.
Re: working from home.
I continued to work from home for a while (still do on and off) when my daughter was born. No joint family though. I mostly worked when she napped. She wasn't a very demanding baby, so eventually I started working with her awake as well. I would put her in her rocker, give her some toys, and sit her close to me so I could interact with her while working.
I didn't work full time. It was more project based, which was manageable. It became harder as she got older and mobile, so I mostly stopped taking projects, other than the occasional ones here and there.
Re: working from home.
Easiest solution is to give the new born to the joint family while you work.
It's hard to separate work and family when working from home. I would set a place to work, hours and boundaries. How old is he/she, to get some routine you can even think of day care for some days.
Re: working from home.
maybe i can work at nights while she sleeps...and then spend the day with her..and take naps on and off when she sleeps during the day..would it work??
Re: working from home.
^ i would not recommended that. newborns really don't sleep that much at night. How many hours do you need to have your work completed in a day? Will you be just be developing or do you have phone calls with the clients.
Re: working from home.
no i wud be doing the development only and i need to work 4 hours a day at max...depends on the project though..
i plan to start working once she has regular sleep patterns..n i guess babies get there in three months time..
Re: working from home.
You can only work once your baby has developed sleeping habits and sleeps for around 3-4 hours. Web development is also a stressful job and with new born things can take toll really easily for mom.
