i hear newscasters n many others saying it like ‘‘aghwanistan’’…why say it that way??

but i remember like..since childhood…early 90’s…when taliban were only fighting northern alliance…then also they used to say that 
‘aghwanistan’

Then it might be pronunciation issue.. its kinda difficult to say "Fay’ and ‘Ghain’ together

KKF is on leave, but why need an Urdu specialist.. I think the users of the term need some voice therapy specialist.
On a serious note, are there any words where ‘Fay’ and ‘Ghain’ used together like Afghanistan and ‘Fay’ becomes silent 
There is a word ‘Fughaan’ used as ‘Aah o Fughaan’ like Insha Ji’s famous ghazal ‘Hum Raat boht roye, boht aah o Fughan ki’.
Shehki is properly pronouncing the word.. so I think, there is no silent letter issue here.

I think its just a pronunciation error. Because you write Afghanistan the same way in Urdu as you write in English( meaning the syllables are at the same positions).
Although I like to think Noms has got a bit of a hearing issue :halo:

But I found them saying 'Afghansitan'.. I think the word is tricky and use of 'Fay' & "Ghain' with saakin 'Fay' does give impression that 'Fay' is not being said.
