Probably because Zulqarnain failed to impress with the bat, he scored 88 in 2nd innings. Had he scored 10-15 runs that probably would've been okay, but 88???? :ASA:

They are playing Kamran as a keeper or a batsmen. Why dont they play both Wahab Riaz & Tanvir Ahmed and rest Salman Butt and Imran Farhat as openers... :-) Last test match two new guys (Ajmal & Zulqarnain) made fifties.

This news doesn't make sense. If Amir and Asif are both rested, that's means they are only playing one fast bowler, Wahab? Gul is injured is out of the test series so it makes sense to rest Asif and Aamer and play Wahab and Tanvir instead. I think they should rest Ajmal
and give Raza Hasan a go...the kid has really impressed me so far from what I have seen of him in the U-19 WC and in domestic cricket after that.
Yousuf should replace Malik and Amin and Azhar should both play. I hope they don't play Kami as a keeper...Zulqarnain needs as much exposure to English conditions as possible.

kamran is a wise choice because he will not be playing in test and a chance for injury and kamran is out of form so its good for him to play and get back in form

Last 5 years Kamran has been out of form. Do you think he will improve with one tour game? I dont think so. Time to look to the future and groom Zulqarnain. He sure has the heart of a champion.

yar !!! bhai kamran akmal was a Cheeta when he first came and was great opener aswell as a middle order batsman ..

Playing in three day match does not mean he will be back in the test team, but obviously he has to be given chance to regain his form. I dont see him playing ahead of Zulqarnain in the test.
BTW it is raining in Birmingham and it is next door to worcester so the chances of play are not that bright.
