Comments like these reflect to the root cause of the unpredictability of Pakistani performance. It reflects the psyche of our players. I think Haroon Rasheed very rightly stresses the need for educated players. As long as Pakistani produce “talented” but psychologically and intellectually unstable players we can never be world beaters.

I get your point. But I am not sure what Mr Rashid’s own credentials are…it’s a bit like the Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Eahi (who himself is 9th Fail and his first cousin (the king maker) Ch. Shujaat ( a real paindoo) is matric fail - jisse theek se baat tak karni nahin aati ) stressing the need for education in Punjab. The only truly educated Pakistani players (who have gone on to complete graduation) I know are Imran Khan, Ramez Raja and Saeed Anwar (and a few others). Because it’s almost impossible to complete your education if you’re serious about playing for Pakistan (you have to get in the team by the age of 21-22 at the latest apart from a few exceptions) what we all really mean here is good schooling which sadly the great majority of them lack dearly.
