Shoaib started off on a full run up but in his final overs he went to a short run and bowled more accurately I thought.
Woolmer has said that if he doesn't feel right with a short run up he can switch to a longer one...still in the experimental stages.

actually - it's a bad idea from Woolmer - no matter how bad the situation is - both Sami and Shoaib should keep their run ups short - look what happened against India's match - even tho Pakistan won but gave too many extra runs
no time to mess around.

if they had kept extras in control, the "bonus point" would have kept Pakistan in tournament.
I'm kinda pissed off that Shoaib has started off a dead match against BD with a full 20 yd run up. Wouldn't it have made sense to use this game to fine-tune the short run experiment? I think Woolmer or Inzimam should take the decision out of his hands in matches like this otherwise that idiot will always want to bowl as fast as he can rather than bowl accurately.
What makes it even more annoying is that he finished the game against India so well with a shorter run up.
^ Shoaib bolwed all of his second spell with shorter run up and bowled quite well.
20 yards is not a full run-up for Akhtar. Most medium pacers bowl at around 20 yards. Akhtar's full throttle is 32 yards.

Wasim Akram asked Shoaib about how comfortable bowling with shorter run up. He said well i still am managing speeds of 148-150 with this new run up thus so far so good.
