Wood Worm - Cutting Edge?

Did you check out Russel ARnold’s new bat, it has a lot hype behind it, check out the manufacturer’s site:

"It’s the most talked about cricket bat since Dennis Lillee’s aluminium bat in the 1979/80 Perth test. Whilst the authorities were quick to banish his illegal blade, The Wand was approved by all cricketing authorities in February of this year.

Players at all levels are now joining the Woodworm revolution and are reporting back on their respective successes with the bat. Agents and distributors across the world are asking when the bat will be available overseas.

Professional players are now asking Woodworm whether they can jump on board.

When will you?

Having watched Russel Arnold successfully start his new career with the Woodworm Wand (average of 48.66 after 5 innings), The Woodworm Cricket Company has today announced that Avishka Gunawardene will now be using the revolutionary bat as well, starting at Edgbaston tomorrow against India. Renowned for his ferocious hitting, Gunawardene’s style of batting is very similar to his captain’s Sanath Jayasuriya.

“I am really comfortable with the Wand and am very much looking forward to taking it to the crease”, Gunawardene said.

Gunawardene watched his colleague Arnold recently become the first player in cricket history to use the Wand and was so impressed with the bat that he made contact with the company.

Joe Sillett, Managing Director of Woodworm, added, “Avishka is a big hitter of the ball and always looks to play his shots. If he gets going at the crease, we could see some real fireworks.”

I dont really like this concept. How about coming up with an egg shaped ball? Dont you think the shape of the bat too should be strictly defined?

**Get Back to Where you Once Belonged! **

All looks but no difference when you use it, my team mate ordered one but it isn't much different from the other bats, the quality is good and a little lighter, not a bat to hit boundries with.
