okay ,we’re about to move to a new place which has real wood flooring all over the house , yeah all over 
( thank god restrooms r excluded), as we’ve no experience at all with wood floor so needed ideas/ tips regarding it’s care + cleaning + maintenance from all of u who’ve experiences in this regard . Also suggest which products r best to use for cleaning n pills n coating etc ??
Tips regarding lawn care r also required ??.. i know i’m such a goof

is it hardwood or is it laminate?
the best, cheapest and easiest thing to clean hardwood is vinegar, mix vinegar with water...8 parts wateer to one part vinegar and clean away.
there are too many cleaners out there they leave dull residue on the floors, including swiffer, which is good for quick spot cleanups but not as the only cleaning.
put mats at entry points, so dirt does not get tracked in, pebbles and stuff stuck in shoes can srcatch up and dent floors pretty bad, worst offenders are women with stilletos where the heel pad is broken/breaking.
U may need to move rugs and furniture around to have even fading, wood does fade with sunlight ..what u dont want is patches.
some people I know like the hoover floormate for cleaning wood floors, I dont know we have not bought it yet, but it is supposed to be pretty good.
and then the usual wipe up spills quickly etc.

it's hardwood , so the to do list includes,
- floor mats at entry & kitchen
- wipe up spills ,immediately
- hoover floormate, for detailed cleaning
- swiffer ,for quick cleaning
- diluted vinegar ( great idea)
- keep switching the furniture

not hardwood, but bamboo flooring but the care is similar. we have bamboo flooring on the entire ground floor. its really not too hard to maintain. sweeping it is very simple, i feel like teh airport janitors with the wide soft dry mops they use to sweep.
oh yeah and make sure your humidity level is right and the humidifier is running, if its too dry it can mess up the floors.

actually i'm a cleaning freak ............ i've no problem with that , my only concern was to know the right tips about cleaning hardwood floor........... wanna take care of lawn personally , there's a not too big patch of grass both at front ( not sure about size) and back with sprinklers

ahhh sprinklers, lucky you. i have to drag teh damn hose around, one day I will get sprinklers too sigh
I dont have a gren thumb, and can barely mow the lawn properly so cant be of much help there :D

( P.S : good to know that lawn care besides mowing is one thing which is beyond fraudia's supreme wisdom)

besides mowing?
i cant even mow, blew cash on a honda lawnmower and have used it like maybe 10 times in 4 years, shoulda listened to kaleem and started with a lawn
there are many other things that I know zilch about but then I dont talk about them. try it ask me about installing tile or repairing drywall. I am just not a very handy person.

I will go home and check out the names of the stuff we use for the hardwood floors. One is an oil based liquid cleaner which u mix with water and mops/wipe the floors. Another is this polish liquid from costco which practically adds a shiney layer to the wood make it look all clean and new. Use bot hof them together and U will have sparkly wooden floors for atleast 2-3 weeks.

the yellow one is the cleaner and the white bottle has the polishing solution in it. When polishing the floor I like to use the liquid undiluted. I spray it on the floor and quickly spread it out using a paper towel before it dries up. It will take a bit of practise before u can use it without leaving blotches but once u have the floor looks worth the effort.

Polishing the hardwood floor sometimes leaves it kinda slippery
at my house. Are others experiencing that too?

"bruce" hardwood cleaner works really well in keeping your hardwood floors shiny and clean.
also.......when you mop your floors make sure you dry it well and always wipe up spills immediately.
as far as lawn care.........how big is your lawn? if it is half acre or more I really suggest installing a sprinkler system....it's a bit expensive to do so but it's well worth it. Be sure to fertilize 3 times a year and get rid of weeds immediately by using products such as "weedBgone".

we dont seem to have that problem at our house but my aunt does and she uses the same product. Perhaps it depends on the kind of wood...or maybe too polish is being applied?
