Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

That's none of Semi's ****ing business that how Muslims should deal with this situation. We don't go to Christian websites and tell them to how to run their churches.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Exactly

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Maybe we should go to the the christian websites and tell them to stop preying on small choir boys.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Now guys, we shouldn't make fun of their religous practices. Who knew Michael Jackson was a practicing Catholic.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Mirza ji, you want me to provide the names of the priests and churches.....or you want to discuss MJ's disorder?

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

^ It doesn't say that there cannot be a woman president in the US. But apparently a woman CANNOT lead prayers..probably because of their low status in ISlam. What do you guys think?

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

I mean who the hell is he? seriously. As a non-Muslim does he have any clue what Quran or hadith say anything about a women leading mixed prayer? Is this issue affecting any non-Muslim Americans? No. So why he has to jump in the discussion and give smart ass comments about sexism in Islam.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Kaleem bhai - Both can be done :D

Matsui - When you don't know anything about Islam don't comment, no one really cares what you think, and just because you pray to kali maa doesn't mean your religion thinks highly of human women.

Agent Smith bhai - American's like to stick their noses in places, and when they can't find an ass to stick their nose in they stick it in other people's business.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Mirza ji, you are so "raaat". Usually we americans like to brown nose Israelis, if they are not available any muslim opposing nation will do(see India).

Re: Women’s right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Matty, Benazir Bhutto. Enough said. When was the last time US had a women president? some shining beacon of democracy and equal rights for women ha…

Women not being able to lead the prayers has nothing to do with their status in the society. On a side not can women hold important religious posts in Hindu culture?

Re: Women’s right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Don’t even get me started over the status of women in Hinduism.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Indeed Kaleem bhai.

Re: can a woman lead a friday prayer…???

It’s idiotic statements like that that make religion forum a very nasty and (mostly) uninformative place to be. Does someone have to be part of a certain group in order to discuss it? That’s the response everyone comes up with when they run out of ammunition and decide to get persona because they can’t think of anything better to say. “Tolerance and peace” my ass

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Sara, you have one patient ass.

Re: can a woman lead a friday prayer…???

If you do not have islamic knowledge you should not comment on something you do not know about. It is okay to discuss something but to make comments which insult Islam, especially when you know nothing about it is wrong.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Ah, the Righteous Bunch. The Pious Soceity. The Noble Alliance. The Spiritual Police. The Holy Joes. I say that because of such godly and awe-inspiring posts. Surely you know all.

Listen, I don't have to be Muslim to recognize sexism. I don't have to be black to know Rosa Parks experienced racism. I'm not saying you don't have hadith (who can keep up with it?) to support your view, I'm just saying it is a sexist policy.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Seminole, i doubt you found any black women saying in the 50's that their rights are not being trampled upon.

Here you do find the majority of practicing muslim women saying this is utter nonsense.

Get the point ?

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

And sexism according to who ? you ? your society ? remember the whole world doesnt operate on the same moral grounds as you do. They dont go about bombing innocent nations for one...and there's a multitude of other differences.

Re: Women’s right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

It is not a sexist policy, that is where you are wrong. This isn’t like working in a Gatorade commercial where the girl can do anything the guy can. Women can do certain things men can’t and vice versa. There are reasons for it.

Re: Women's right to lead mixed-gathering prayers

Sara I think its was answer to an idiotic statement. Since we are in the spring of bashing Islam thats why you see so many non-muslims giving thier opinion about Islam.

On the subject matter, can anyone site the Dalil she has for leading a joint prayer.
