In another thread, some people gave me this statement upon one of my comments.
My comment was that a girl can take off her burqa/hijaab (physical - cloth) in front of other women and the statement of others was that a woman should observe hijaab even among women…
I thought the whole point of a physical hijaab is to guard a woman’s body against a man’s unnecessary gaze (given that the man is also doing his part).
So why would one do a hijaab in front of other women. Note: I’m not talking about women being naked with each other, but wearing average clothes you’d wear at home - like a jeans and a shirt or something - around other girls.
I mean, honestly, this is the first time i came across something like this – i’m hoping i misunderstood.
There are certain situations. What if you are among Muslim/non girl who describe your Awrah to other male. Do you want the whole world to know your details, statistic ...etc?
hmm....i have heard that if u don't completely trust the other woman, and that she might describe you to someone then you shouldn't take off your hijab in front of her...
in pakistan for example its common practice that sometimes a guy will like a hijabi or niqaabi girl and then ask his sister to go meet her and see her without hijab and then his sister will describe her to him without her having any idea about this...
so some girls like to avoid such situations and just stick to their hijaabs even in front of other girls...

what is awrah?

reference to the portions of a person's body that are to be covered properly. Under different circumstances, a person's 'awrah will be different. For example, for women, their 'awrah in the prayer when no men are around is different from their 'awrah when they go out in public which is yet different from their 'awrah when they perform the Hajj or the 'Umrah.

Go to Norway or other countries in the northern hemisphere whose people don't see sunlight for 4-6 months a year. Their bones are perfectly normal by the Grace and Mercy of God.
What one needs to understand is that, there can only come good and benefit from the Laws of God. No harm can come from it. This is how simple it is ... as simple as words themselves.
