I need to get me a Business Suit ASAP…most probably by the end of this week.
Please suggest some that may be contemporary styled yet timeless.
I want to be able to wear it to an executive Dinner next week yet if I have to save it for interviews.Pleeeze help!!!
What els do you all suggest? We have been asked to wear Business wear…Not a big fan of skirts though.
What should I be looking for in terms of style an Fit??
Most of my suits are Calvin klein or bcbg. Both have amazing cuts and fitting. I buy seperates, entire suit ends up costing around 250-300. Though I'm sure u can find it on sale but not sure if u will be able to find ur size once it's on sale. And get a fitted shirt to wear inside and pumps.
I have never tried Talbots except for the kids stuff…How is the fit…I d want it to be you know multifunctional…not just for the Dinner.
That photos is a ice one…but looks like a skirt suit to me..
I have already seen Ann Taylor …I know there Triacetate ones are good ones and mixing and matchin em…but I havent been able to find a Jacket I would like.
Could you all suggest some nice tops too for the Dinner.
suggest some that would suit me ..u know…I am on the website…I dont know what style.Since I wont be taking the Jacket off…what o you think of one of these.. EXPRESS: Dress Tops
I like the Lilac colored blouse.
I am going to go to BR for the suits. I have never tried their pants though. The only fit I have liked so far is Ann Taylor...esp that the pants are lined. Anyone know if the BR are also ?
Thats great Nikky. I am really confused about the fit of thesuit…like where should the jacket hit…you know length wise. What is more flattering.
Ofcourse on the models they look so perfect…but according to ones personal figure …how does one know which style suits em…so many questions…so little time:bummer:
Asky, whenever I have bought suits, I've had the people advise me. The Nordstroms people are really good at that. Just go there, get yourself all the measurements like which part of the palm should your sleeve fall on, the length of the pants, the kind of belt, collar, lapelle and all the good stuff, then go to a cheaper store :D Kidding. Sometimes they have excellent deals as well.
You are right…But I aint going to Nordstorm or whatchamacallit saks 5th etc…I can’t afford those kinda suuits
I will stick to Banana Republic and Ann Taylor for now.Any other places you can mention?? I donts know where else to go:bummer:…Express..I dont remember they having suits though
Anyone tried Limited…I hve a coupon for em.…Dont know anything other then Limited too(again kids brand:D)
also now and then macy's brand INC has some nice ones. I just got myself a nice gray and white plaid pant that was wide legged or "trouser pants" and i love them. I think pants that fit from your hips to your upper thighs and slowly flares out a bit is always going to compliment most women's shape.
I know a lot of women who don't like the trouser pant look because they think it makes them look assless but the point of that is to wear a fitted shirt with it and these days with so many blouses being loose it's important to make sure if you go wide on the bottom it should be fitted up top.
Also the last time i was in NY i went to a club monaco in an outlet mall and found some really nice preppy outfits for the workplace. if you have one near you then i highly recommend it.
Here is what I have narrowed it down to…I am going to go tomorrow though.
I like the one buttoned jackets. The styles I have liked so far are from
BCBGeneration
CK’s one buttoned
Ann Taylor Triacetate ones
Lastly Banan Republic
