…because women are supposed to be a source of calm and happiness for their husbands.

So instead of bothering him with petty issues and add stress to their days, they rather deal with it themselves or vent to freinds/blogs etc.

Agree with 2 nd part, but it is not going to happen in most of the cases, normally wives see the husband source of calm and share happiness. And they like to through every petty issues (specially family matters) to husband hoping to him to find a solution.

Women vent because thats the only way they know how to blow off steam.

Disagreed. If women are source of calm for men, men should play the same role as well

agreed..and if they dont do this they can make the life of their husbands difficult by complaining all they in front of him

I haven't seen a woman who knows how to deal with her own problems . They just can't hold it in , they have to let it out . Usually it comes out on the nearest and dearest .
