Women, sports and married life.

Just curious how many of you actively played some sport at some stage of your life (hockey, tennis, skating, cricket, soccer …anything)

If you did actually play some sport, did you stop playing after getting married? If you did, was the the requirement from someone or you just gave it up due to other family activities? or perhaps you lost the interest?

I know many guys who were sportsman before getting married and they still occasionally/actively play it. I myself play either Soccer or Cricket on weekends specially in summer (early morning though).

Begum used to play badminton actively before getting married and on last weekend she was giving me ‘tana’ that I still got to play but she does not get any time.

Re: Women, sports and married life.

i played a lot of cricket in my school days. played for isb u-19 too. But then studies took over (well they actually never did :hehe: ). Still play cricket whenever I can. Also have played squash and badminton.

Not married yet but I know some friends who are and find time and space to play at times.

‘tana’ tu comes naturally to that species, does it not?

Re: Women, sports and married life.

buy a table tennis and then you both can play together at home. :@:

Re: Women, sports and married life.

I don't have anything else to add to the thread other than that I think your begum is very a intelligent and smart woman.

People who get taanay are lucky DC6 bhai. =p

Re: Women, sports and married life.

I can't imagine ever asking my husband to give up any hobby that he enjoys...esp if it was sports.

then again.....its all theoretical....

Re: Women, sports and married life.

I’ve heard ppl say ‘housework’ keeps a woman fit after marriage :smack:

I swim regularly and hopefully will be able to carry on after tying the knot..

Re: Women, sports and married life.

I swam before and I swim now. Hubby participates in all sports he was in before and now. In fact he is making me like running which I have never liked before.

One may not have oodles of time because one has other responsibilities but that's a whole different topic.

Re: Women, sports and married life.

Cricket…I stopped playing it after reaching the age of 12 like all the typical girls in Pakistan.

Now I play badminton with my kids.

Re: Women, sports and married life.

^hehe same here Hareem. I used to play cricket with my cousins alot but as they grew up they got so good at bowling that I no longer could show my batsman(woman) skills and i used to get bowled out before I knew it :bummer:

I have been playing badminton too and till my final year of med school Ive been in my batch’s Basketball team. I lovee it !

Hubby loves playing squash , cricket, running and gym. But after moving here I have become a lazy bum and I don’t play much. :frowning: Though I wish I could more often.

Re: Women, sports and married life.

so from the ladies who 'wish they could play more oftern', whats stopping u?

Re: Women, sports and married life.

can't play basketball alone..lol and for badminton too we dont have much space ! :(

plus the biggest reason is me being a couch potato :(
