even now, in rural India, we see Aadivaasii women without blouses but they are fully covered with their knee-high saaRii’s palloo. i’ve seen very many poor women in my own village who work on the farms. i remember they used to come to the village pond [outside my village] to take a dip bath in the dirty/muddy water.

He probably meant tight-ass jeans that look like spandex. Men don’t wear those anywhere in the world, so its not an anti-women comment.
