Women segregation in Muslim countries

leads to Men oogling at a women, try touching her, and a women would not be safe walking alone.

In most other countries-women & men intermingle freely - and there seems to be less such trouble.

Do you agree. If not, why not.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

I agree. Mom tells me such incidents were more common back in the days (60's), but as Pakistani society got more relaxed about the segregation, these incidents started becoming less common (although still not uncommon).

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

see aside from those psychos that enjoy getting slapped…alot of men try to touch in pakistan because the KNOW they can get away with it. they rub up against women because most women are too shy to publicly shout at him and make it obvious he was doing that.
even in a free society…lets take the U.S as example…men oogle (construction workers!!!) they know they can get away with it. they dont TOUCH because they KNOW they’ll be busted for harrassment.
since pakistan is eons away from punishing the frustrated rubbing men…i think women need to take a stand and either kick them in the balls or atleast reply with a tight slap.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

recently i went to Pakistan and …bus kia kia hua ..lets just say i couldnt go to shopping alone! stupid uneducated retarted Pakistani larkey  ..kab sudherin gey?

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

I guess it is that bad only in the cities. How is it in smaller towns?

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

I am in total agreement with you

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

well I Intermingle freely with my sweeper’ess ,(and other female employees at home) but that does not stop me from noticing that day before yesterday she was wearing a black bra.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

good for u but noticing someone’s black bra doesnt = harassment…

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

Its not because of segregation. Its because of a lack of strong laws, good law execution system, and judiciary system. Also because of bad family values. Little boys are not taught to respect the opposite sex, and moms surprisingly are responsible for that, I think. Little girls are not taught to fight back and think for themselves.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

^Segregation is part of it, I think. The other sex gets exoticized and obsessed over unnecessarily. I went to an all-girls school for high school and there were so many dorky boys that got dates just because they were boys :p

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

I agree with PCG. Its discusting the lack of respect that is taught for the opposite sex by the kiddies mothers. You'd think they would appreciate the necessity of such an education.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

What the eff are you talking about Malhot? Where do u live? Do u have eyes, do u SEE? I have seen countless… yes countless men here in U.S oogle at gals as young as 10 without blinking for a fraction of a second. Men stare at gals every where, in malls, in fast food restaurants, outside high schools, public libraries, gyms, gas stations and other places. Wait, but isn’t it considered normal to look at a gal, aren’t we SUPPOSED to gaze at pretty gals coz if we don’t then obviously we are not straight, right? That’s the kind of mentality prevalent here.

It’s a common scene here, when gals are walking on the sidewalks, I see a few ppl hitting brakes (slowing down their cars) and turning their heads… and these are not teenagers but grown up men. Of course ones that wear skimpy clothes get looked at more often.

I would describe myself as “reserved” kind of person you know, so what I do most of the time while sitting/standing/walking is quietly “observe” other people. Guess what 9 out of 10 times when a hottie walks by me I am not looking at her, instead I am looking at all the males in my surroundings and I watch them as they stare at the gal. My eyes are fixed on them as their eyes are moving from top to bottom and bottom to top.

Here, men proudly open the door for the ladies and then pin their eyes on her bottom. Many a times men will notice me looking at them and they would either smile shamelessly or say someting like “maaaaaaannnnn sheeee hot”.

I am shocked that some here agree with malhot that segregation causes men to oogle at women since most of you live in the west. Please open up your eyes and look into your surrounding, someone may be oogling at you!

It’s a shame that in a place like U.S where strip clubs, nude clubs, gentle men’s clubs, baby dolls are conveniently located in every big city; men still cannot stop staring at gals in public places.

By the way how many Islamic countries have you lived in and how long?

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

Plus, if you know anything about Pakistan, you know the whole concept of segregation there is exaggerated. There is very little segregation in urban cities, and I can tell you from first hand experience that I have not been treated with even an ounce of respect on the streets of Karachi. And I tried everything from going out without make-up to draping a chaddar around me. Nothing helps.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

It all boils down to poor ubringing, morals and values. No amount of segregation can ever make much of a difference unless we start addressing the roots of the problem which start at home.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

darn str8. New Parents should take a intro course: How to Raise Kids RIGHT. 101

followed by annual refresher courses : Lets Remind You How to Raise Kids RIGHT, (in case you didn't get it the first time). 102-infiniti.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

Sahar02 has mentioned a strong point. Men or women who are segregated, over obsess about the opposite sex, and this leads to lust.
TeenDabawala- is right, even in India, such behaviour was prevalent. But with more & more women working-things are improving.
Regarding Rural areas-I think in both Pakistan & India, there would be no harrasment since everyone knows each other in small communities.

You make it sound like it's the same as in pakistan and you know it isn't. come on. desis stare so hard you think their eyes are going to fall out. whereas in us it's considered rude and very lower-class to stare at a girl that way and if the girl looks and frowns, or even meets the man's eyes, he will stop staring and look away apologetically. He knows its wrong to stare.

i am a girl so i say this with perfect confidence. i wonder what sort of low lifes you've been around to think it's not different! only thing i can guess is that maybe you ran into a group of teenage boys in some bad neighborhood. also occasionally recent immigrants from more macho cultures like mexico will catcall and stare and make kissing noises, i assume because it's ok in their culture and they haven't figured out the rules of the game here yet.

there are problems in the us regarding domestic violence, rape etc like anywhere else, i'm not saying it's perfect (although i do often wonder if higher rape statistics here simply indicate that women here are more willing to report the rapes bcoz they arent afraid of trouble from their families). that said, the staring situation is much much better. maybe only a woman would see this difference so clearly?

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

A woman is like a flower how can we resist her beauty?

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

If a woman is like a flower-os ko khil ney do, chedney/beysharmi sey vho murjha jatey hai.

Re: Women segregation in Muslim countries

I agree to a point.

I also believe that the reason that there is less of that in other countries is that there are laws that are enforced to stop it and the men are not looked apon as men"in need of sex" but as the criminals they are.

When there is an issue of non-consent, it is a criminal act, no if's, and's, or but's. So if a guy can't keep his hands to himself, have laws in place to arrest and prosecute him. Otherwise it will continue as something that guys smile about (for example refer to eagle's post).

And, oh yeah, while we are on it, looking at women is not a crime. Oogling women is not a crime. People who get upset over people looking at them need to get a life. TOUCHING a person (anyone) is a crime without consent.
