Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.
Set them up with small industry and have the women participate in APWA (all pakistan women association), APWA alone does wonders for women, be it moral support or legal support. Unfortunately most women in Pakistan don't know or are so into wearing jeans with kameez and into their Urglish see example below:
" Pata heh na" but na , lakin na meh neh kaha listen to me na" Wo pata heh aisa .......heh, keh har wakt chakar chalata he karta rehta heh na, sunooo naaaaa"
If one were to educate the women to use APWA that will be a good start. Also the chauvanistic males need to be brought into the 21st century they need to be explained that too much unprotected sex with wives results in babies that they then need to feed.
as far as helping them is concerened help them with setting up small industries (example cap making, assembly of small goods) etc.
Above all EDUCATION EDUCATON EDUCATION.
Most muslim women have no desire to study, they know that they will a john by age 18 or 21. That definitely needs to change.
In order to compete in the 21 st century, women need to step up themselves, rather than live in dark ages run by talibanesque men.
