Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Miss Noland, that was just an example to illustrate that some sectors of economic activity are closed to women (or Gender Based Job Preference). I didn’t mean it exclusively. Just as Police Forces have been opened to a large degree now. They should also open up sectors such as Armed Forces, Public Transport Secotrs, the list is pretty exhaustive. The civil sector that is open to women is pretty limited actually, even in urban industrialized areas. In rural agricultural areas, things are much much worse. I agree women shouldn’t be trusted with performing Khatna.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

^ it is more the reason you need to smash and change the paradigm. Just as your devilishly handsome and incredibly suave hindu friend has suggested. System needs a shock..shock and awe..baby

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

I live in England and a willing to help them as much, as it doesnt take too much of my time, i dont want this (at this time in my life ) to be too time consuming!
thats why I did the sewing machine thing, just gave it to them and they did the rest.
I cannot keep going t o Paks so would like to set things up and let go. Perhaps let my father look in on things every now and again, or a few other trustworthy people

At the moment Im sponsoring a chap to go to uni, so i just pay the fees and he does the studying…which is easy for me.

but I thought the women need more hellep.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Mr Madhanee, women would be better, think of all those years practice theyve had with chopping onions.

CHOP! CHOP! CHOP!

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

It’s more like peeling Banana and not chopping onions. That’s why I said it.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Oh.... Ooops.....I didnt know!

hmmmnn..... I guess thats why there was SO much blood.

hey ho, never mind eh!

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Out of all activities, you found Khatna job to be more apealing for women because..? I don’t quiet get your humor. It’s pretty lame!

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

I hope the purpose to your life is more than getting my humor. I agree with you, I dont get it myself either.

:jhanda:

Stick around for a while, it takes time to get it. Slowly…but surely… YOu are halfway there. First step is to recognize that you have a problem, and then to do something about it. YOu have made an effort, and it should be applauded.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

^ I could care less about getting your humor, it's not important.

Oh! I am so good at disguising myself...

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

It’s OK, we still can’t see your head.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Daisy, found it and it is based in PA too, may explain why one of the nicer shops I have seen of theirs is in downtown Philadelphia.

My mother really thinks highly of them and she works with a lot of women’s issues and causes worldwide (fifty times the energy at 60 than I have at 40).

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

^ Boy... am I glad to know!...

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Thanks Minah, will look into it.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Ms daisy vaisy... I'm all a story myself. Please look into me. I'm poverty-stricken, broken-winged, and emotionally starved with nowhere to go in this tyrant world of great apathy. Throw in a few episodes of abuse as well just for the flavor and you have me.

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

^^ ah! but are you a woman?

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

No. But that’s exactly why I’m not rushing Ms daisy vaisy either. She can tend to women of the world first. :clown:

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Awwww.....Romy womy, poor you....... Ive a good mind to give up this women helping nonsense and take you in....but Im afraid that you are beyond help.

yeah, yeah...the truth hurts ...I know;)

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

anyhow what’s roman going to with a sewing machine?

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

hes going to sew patches on his clothes, he makes more money that way....

Re: Women, poverty and Pakistan.

Set them up with small industry and have the women participate in APWA (all pakistan women association), APWA alone does wonders for women, be it moral support or legal support. Unfortunately most women in Pakistan don't know or are so into wearing jeans with kameez and into their Urglish see example below:
" Pata heh na" but na , lakin na meh neh kaha listen to me na" Wo pata heh aisa .......heh, keh har wakt chakar chalata he karta rehta heh na, sunooo naaaaa"

If one were to educate the women to use APWA that will be a good start. Also the chauvanistic males need to be brought into the 21st century they need to be explained that too much unprotected sex with wives results in babies that they then need to feed.
as far as helping them is concerened help them with setting up small industries (example cap making, assembly of small goods) etc.
Above all EDUCATION EDUCATON EDUCATION.
Most muslim women have no desire to study, they know that they will a john by age 18 or 21. That definitely needs to change.
In order to compete in the 21 st century, women need to step up themselves, rather than live in dark ages run by talibanesque men.
