Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

hell is waiting for such women....
musharaf will be much happy to see such pics...
such things r supported by CIA or pentagon so muslims will keep fighting on minor issues...
and as AQ said "manhosiyat" is evident from women faces....

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

Off topic. This thread is not about honor killings. Open another thread to discuss that please.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

Don't women cover thier heads when they are in prayer?

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

I think the more attention and publicity we give this non-event the more of life it will take on.....if we ignore it, I am sure the fitna would die out....All those freaks who attented the salat, probably had'nt been to a masjid or done prayers in a long time.....

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

This is the new Islam, master. It is being updated for the times…you know. More power to the women. I say they can pray in nude if they want to, afterall, its between Allah and them… who are we to judge them

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

oh comon stop exaggerating guys.

Who gives you the right to throw stones? Are you people perfect muslims. So this is their interpretation. They think your interpretation is wrong. It gives you no right to give GALIAN to these women (ahem ranjhan, you're at it again. Man, what if you have a daughter that decides to have a nice rebellion and a life in the fast lane - will you call her a manhoos too? I pray that you do have such a daughter - it will teach you a lesson).

And stretching this to say "what next ? Will they pray in nude?" is a totally immature jump.

You guys shouldn't even feel threatened by this, since majority of muslims dont agree with it to begin with.

And as for the ASSUMPTION that these women haven't prayed in their lives - that's so dumb, really. You make an ASS out of yourselves by ASSuming. And you know what? If it does bring someone back into the fold of Islam, more power to this Amina Wudood.

She's made one of my really best friends who rejected Islam, left the community, etc...slowly start reconsidering Islam. I think NONE of you guys would ever manage that feat with this kind of rhetoric.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

so basically you're saying we should make concessions to our religion that has been the same for the past 1400 years, so that people like your friend, can come back to a changed, altered, "moderate" version of Islam?

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

i actually agree with PGC

there are much more important things to concentrate on and worry about ur own “sins” on the day of judgement you’l be standing there alone, as will these people.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

I have to agree with PCG on a few points here .. lets have a go at them

1- Its disgusting to see 'muslims' going on slandering others. You have the example of the Prophet Sallallah alaih Wasalam infront of you, did he ever speak in words like these about the non muslims ? or the munafiqs ? He was a very soft spoken man. Try to be like him.

2- Do not judge, for it is only Allah's right to do so. Remember if you call another muslim Kafir then one of you is. I for one would rather not be stuck being the kafir since i donot know whats in someones heart and whom Allah guides or misguides.

3- Do not assume, for the same reason as #2

And Now to respond to PCG

1- Reconsidering islam is good, reconsidering proper islam is better.

2- Each time i read a thread having to do something with islam i expect your post to be in there, and to be very controvertial.

3- I understand your frustration, that almost all people on GS seem to be against what you post, however have you ever stopped and considered that those on GS without too many 'enemies' are those who speak with moderation ?

Folks..shame on all of you. You make a mokery of religion at times while trying to sound islamic.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

It almosts sounds like you are saying that to all women! Its not just about the women, there are men who support this too. Keep in mind both the men and women make a small minority, the majority is still not necessarily in favour of all this.

PCG and MM I agree with you guys too but look at it from another angle…People put so much effort and are willing to face so much opposition for something as unimportant as a woman leading a mixed prayer. It would have been refreshing to see them put the same effort in campagins against honour killings!

Yeah it is right for you to condemn all people who wear green turban on their head. You are the only one who can pass judgements and "throw stones".

No one is throwing stones, but pointing out the obvious. When was the last time you saw a Moazzin in shoes? Please enlighten us how this is allowed. Dont shy away by hiding behind cliches like "throwing stones". Answer the question.

I did not say that they were going to do it. I said that according to the logic presented by "some folks" here, it is between Allah and them, hence , she can do whatever the hell she wants...afterall no one should be allowed to tell her that she is doing something wrong.

Threatened? huh...come again. Who is threatened, you need to get out of your women are wronged mode and see it for what it is...criticisim of un-islamic behavior of few.

Oh, I thought you were not into judgements. Plus, you dont know any of the guys critcising this behavior, but , you do not hesitate to ASSume a lot. Yeah, we can only imgaine what your friends are like. I wonder why she left Islam in the first place.

Have you heard this before, tell me if you have and than reconsider your thought pattern. "Lowest "darja" level of Isam is when you see a wrong and think its wrong, one above is the one when you see a wrong and SAY its wrong openly. Highest level of Iman is when you see a wrong you not only SAY its wrong you DO something to stop it". If these words do not ring a bell, let me know, there are plenty more where they come from.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

thats also true femme… but we cannot change the way people think, what is significant to me may not hold any significance to anybody else.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

I have to agree with you on this points - excellent one it is - about giving galiyaN to such people. Islam doesnt allow us so insult or degrade another. We are taught to be patient, and we must teach. I dont see how we will get anywhere if we start attacking. This is a weakness. When we see such things we should voice our opinions, but when we start insulting and degrading other people - thats where we go wrong.

However pcg, a person does not have to be a perfect Muslim to say it is wrong. If a person knows that such things, women leading prayers are wrong, he/she is free to say so. It is wrong to askthem whether they are perfect Muslims or now.because where a person is a perfect Muslim or not, doesnt change how Islam IS.

And pcg calling somebody an ass is alright? :stuck_out_tongue: And it is up to Allah who embraces Islam, not people like Amina Wudood. And it might bring one person towards Islam, but it is driving hundreds away - what of that? And this friend of yours thats reconsidering Islam - shes going to end up believing that women in such a gathering, shoes no scarves leading prayers is alright? Hows that spreading Islam? If a person wishes to spread Islam, he/she spread the word that Allah has sent down to us. Not his/her own version of it. If we started changing Islam to suit our ways - all of us would have these sub groups where we could tell people 'hey this is great , come join us."

And those that know what Islam is, those that stand by and let others commit wrongs will also be held responsible.

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer... Some "Rooh Parwar" highlights..

i m sorry to say...but tht is crap..total crap... those who think these r "minor issues" r neglecting the fact tht this issue has become major in muslim world..we have to realise tht if we keep bringing such issues which have no base in islam will offcourse divide us....and differences between strict and moderate muslims will increase and it is increasing...these r not minor issue...these r fitna and fitna needs to be deal with al the cruelness and seriousness so our muslim ummah which is already divided in groups, would not divide in more groups...

unfortuntaley, religion has been made private matter....and new "production" of scholars r coming out who actually believe on such idiotic things and they r fully supported by pentagon as pENTAGON AIM IS TO SUPPORT MODERATE AND SECULAR

Re: Women leading Friday mixed gender gathering prayer… Some “Rooh Parwar” highlights..

I dont believe we have a right to judge. However, Muslims have a responsibility to speak out when wrong is being done. As far as looking deeper into Islam is concerned, it should be encrouaged. However contradicting Islam is not. I dont think we’re supposed to be silent on the issue. Religion might be between a person and God, but here are some ayahs that might explain further.

**The male and female believers are friends of one another. They command what is right and forbid what is wrong, perform prayer and pay alms, and obey Allah and His Messenger. They are the people on whom Allah will have mercy. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise. (Qur’an, 9:71)

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and compete in doing good. They are among the righteous. (Qur’an, 3:114)

Those who repent, those who worship, those who praise, those who fast, those who bow, those who prostrate, those who command the right, those who forbid the wrong, and those who preserve the limits of Allah: give good news to the believers. (Qur’an, 9:112)**
