No...I don't talk on the phone unless I absolutely have to. I don't have time for casual chit chat and gossip. I have a life. I have a job/career. I have hobbies and interests other than how Shahrukh is so bad for practicing both religions in his home and Priyanka looks horrible in the latest bollywood feature. I have a family that I would rather spend time with and my social life is pretty packed too. Sheesh!

When ever I try to attend any pakistani community event I wud hear oh dublee hogayee ho, ( u have lost wt) and then other lady wud say oh , nahee yeh tu motee hogayee hay ( no, u r wrong, she has gained wt.)

Haania, that reminds me of something…
I remember when i was in my first trimester with my first pregnancy… i attended the wedding of my friend’s daughter… uncharted territory for me as i’m not good in Asian settings.
Anyway there were quite a lot of older ladies that i didn’t really know, but nonetheless, they came up to speak to me… when they found out i was pregnant, one of them said something along the lines of:
“But you can’t let yourself get fat… think about your weight… only eat once a day… you want to keep your figure otherwise your husband will not find you attractive…”

^ my mom says that. Well not eat once a day or in a husband not finding you attractive kind of way. But she is always on my case about how a time will come when I would wanna eat like an animal & I have to be careful :(
I know that you are definitely NOT one of those aunties that would call only for this reason…
It’s wormen (no that is not a typo) like this that raise idiotic male offspring with skewed expectations and standards.

But I think ts more aunties who have problem being motee and dublee than my husband, he didnt say a word abt how much I gained in pregnancy( I gained alot) , still had alot even 6 months after my baby is born, and even now after I have lost alot, he loves me despite motee and dublee and its vice versa, its aunties that hav issues i think or like muzna sons raised by those kind of aunties.
I get to hear the first one alot and

Women...in general give a lot of weight to what other women...in general think of them, say to them and look in them.
ugh, I HATE talking on the phone (except with my sisters :jano:), and I keep telling people I HATE the phone and they just don’t get it. I usually don’t return calls cuz I’ll end up listening to stupid gossip for an hour and I’d rather play with my daughter than listen to all that nonsense about people I barely know. Why don’t these people get it even when I’ve given very very broad hints??

We got to have a special breed of women on GS as it seems that they all hate certain type of women and that certain type is very common, coincidentally none from that type is on GS.
I wonder why ?
