Good on him, from what I just read his behaviour is to be commended. Seriously, any abuse towards another person is just wrong regardless of your gender. I have just as much contempt for women who abuse their husbands as I do for men who abuse their wives.
How would hitting her back resolve the issue? You’re only stooping down to her level and it would only make the situation worse.
