Sadiyah, you have indeed pointed out a very true trend that is happening in our society but again, the majority of people are still following the old style. I am all for muslim girls getting top education and working and YES they are doing an excellent job in that department, however, men are not slacking off from education! The reason you see so many ppl trying to become entrepreneurs, and again this is just my observations and experience, is because the job market is getting tougher and tougher and business seems to be a good place to start for long term reason. Business do fail and that is true for any business at any stage.
So, a balance between both would be an awesome thing. I am completing my education inshaAllah and along with it i am doing my internship and parttime jobs to gain industry experience but in my mind i have a goal to start my own business. I have already started a small web development business and its going slow but that's just coz i haven't put fulltime investment in it.
Sitting at home and raising kids .. hmm i will pass on that.. i am all for helping her out, after all they will be my kids too :) so i have to do my job in raising them with her ..
I know alot of guys who dont want to sit at home .. infact they want wife that can stay at home and do all the cooking and cleaning and raising kids while they want to work at some big firm and when they come home want to be treated at kings.. i feel sorry for these guys and i hope their wives don't let them do this.. its really something to be ashamed of..
