I think these days it’s too difficult finding somebody right for yourself, one always talks about how both personalities should be compatible to one another and to ignore superficial aspects of the person such as their dress but as Muslims that it is the one aspect you will notice straight away.
Personally if my potential partner were to dress in a skirt I would look elsewhere regardless of her inner beauty, I wouldn’t be able to accept it and as far as I’m aware neither would any other family that I’ve encountered.
But I suppose it depends upon the religiousness of the family. Although as Mitch stated earlier that we have a duty to let these type of people know, in reality most are already aware of what they do think you’re ‘extreme’ in your views.
