Why are women so greedy? We buy tons of makeup, shoes, bags, what not and yet we aren’t satisfied. Why so?

Well women are just never fully satisfied. They go to a gathering/party and see a woman there with a more expensive hand bag or better style in dress and tell themselves they need it too or they need to look better than that female they just saw. So then they go and beg their husbands for something better than they already have or some just up and look for it themselves without consulting husbands and keep looking till they find the best style of clothes/shoes/hand bags whatever it is they were looking for. Then perhaps they see a fashion magazine and realize they don't have the latest style and get up again buying it and then perhaps at another party see someone wearing something stunning they like and they go back to shopping for something just as or more stunning. Its a vicious cycle for many women. As for me, I have been married 4 years and keep wearing my shaadi and nikaah heels to parties/weddings as they work fine with my current dresses. I have bought new clothes/makeup and purses(if my purse falls apart or looks raggedy I need a new one) because I do want to look current and nice but last time I bought Paki party wear was 2 years ago! I know my hubby works hard to pay the bills etc and one day we want to own a house so I only buy what is needed, never zaroot se zyada!

Women are weird. Thats the best way to put I think

If any of you is hesitant in spending their money then forward it to me, I'll be your accountant. Pass me your bank details etc.

These days am obsessed with buying a kitten…or maybe 2 :chilly:

But it is true…I dnt know why…it is sad :bummer: never satisfied with what we have…we always want what we don’t have…but I think that goes for everyone…not jst women.

honestly, I can't stand materialistic people (men and women), including my younger sister who's obsessed with designer stuff but she's just a kid, its really annoying to see grown women think and act this way.

Not all women are greedy. Its just those women who hardly in their life had money to buy nice shoes and then when they grow up and start earning, they make up for their hidden desires. But alhumdolilah i have been blessed with all the luxuries and my parents never stopped me from buying what i wanted, neither did i wish for HUGE things. I think balance in life is very important. I know some women in my family who are in constant competition for buying designer stuff. If one of them buys an omer sayeed's dress, the other one is instantly found making an appointment with some buntooo muntooo designer so yeah buy moderately and buy nice stuff. And this greed is only seen in women, men are wiser and more patient. God help women.

i totally agree and your younger sister acts this way because she must be surrounded by some materialistic jerks in her school

Ditto from what i've noticed is that if you come from a family where no one is bothered about designer gear you will too will have no such desires. Maybe it's because you're oblivious to what's exactly out there? On the other hand, if you come from a family where girls are constantly competing againt eachother and are totally decked up in designer gear, you automatically fall into the same trap. I will have to disagree with of one the posters above as I believe that the wealthier you are, the more greedy you get.

Women and men both want nice things and I don't think we're any more greedy than the guys.. Most girls want nice clothes, shoes, makeup whilst most guys want the newest or most advanced games console, phone or sports car.. We compete more in terms of clothes, they compete in terms of cars yet for some reason they don't get labelled 'greedy' or 'materialistic' (most of the time)..

I think we all have a creative/artistic sense that needs to be satisfied. I find fashion a form of Art...same goes for makeup. If women involve themselves in some other creative hobbies (e.g. photography, painting, writing, etc.) we will be less obsessed with fashion and shopping. I think women are greedy about little little things but guys are for big things...cars, electronics and GIRLS etc...lol

Exactly, and cars are much more expensive than makeup or shoes.

I think both sexes can be equally greedy tbh.
